Though it is a beloved destination any time of the year, Boracay is a favorite destination of many to celebrate the day of hearts. Once recognized as one of the most romantic islands in the world by an international travel magazine, Boracay and its many establishments have perfected the craft of making hearts flutter.

If you’re thinking of how to make it extra special for your Valentine’s Day in Boracay, here’s something you can do to spice up your vacation.

1. Book a romantic accommodation with your special someone.

Impress your loved one with a romantic staycation!

Boracay, especially the White Beach area, usually gets crowded with lovers or even singles during Valentine’s Day. If you want to have an intimate moment with your special someone, you can book accommodation away from the crowd. One of the resorts you can check out is Discovery Shores Boracay, a top resort on the island that boasts in-house restaurants, signature suites, a spa, a pool, and more.

2. End with a night full of romance, too!

Let wine do the talking.

To make your date night extra memorable, you can look at resorts that offer date night packages and intimate dinners for just the two of you. If you’re on a budget, you can still glamorize your date without spending too much! Boracay is not just for those who can splurge, after all. Restaurants along the beachfront area, especially those in Stations 2 and 3, offer special dinners for Valentine’s Day. You can have your own memorable date for less than Php1,000 while enjoying a live band. Isn’t Boracay a romantic getaway idea?

3. Try adventure activities fit for two.

Choose your own paraw at the White Beach.

If you are a couple who are looking for some things to do and adventure time, the island offers some action-packed activities that can be enjoyed by duos. Catch the stunning sunset of Boracay with its popular paraw-sailing activity. This time, enjoy it with just the two of you. Well, except for the boatman, he could help capture your moments together. Outside tour and accommodation packages, a 30-minute sail for two along the shores of Boracay costs Php3,000 per person.

Another activity to try with a partner is parasailing. You’ll surely feel some butterflies in your stomach, not just because of “kilig” (romantic excitement), but for flying meters high in the air. The parasailing activity is offered at Php2,500 per person, depending on your haggling skills. To avoid paying extra for commissioners, you can directly manage a trip for paraw-sailing and parasailing activities in Station 1 and along with Station 3, where the accredited water sports operators are located.

If you want some land adventure, do some horseback riding at Bulabog Beach or at Mt. Luho. The horse riding activity is offered by Boracay Stables for Php935 per person an hour or Php1,720 for two hours. Teach your partner or ride a horse together, and you’ll surely strengthen the connection that you share.

4. Pull off a surprise!

Get a tattoo of your lover’s name.

Being together in Boracay does not mean you can’t surprise your partner on Valentine’s Day. A sweet and traditional surprise is a bouquet of flowers. You can ask your resort accommodation to help you pull this off, but if you want to purchase the flowers by yourself, you can go to Florista Flowershop along the main road in Balabag.

They have an assortment of local and imported flowers and can arrange personalized bouquets, which cost Php1,000 to Php1,500 depending on the flowers of your choice. But for those on a budget, you can already get a lovely long-stemmed flower for Php100. They also have human-sized teddy bears priced at Php3,000 to Php3,500.

A gift that could put a smile on your partner’s face is something that is even more personalized and could last longer than memories do. For those with a brave heart, you can have your lover’s name inked on your skin at Inkzomia Tattoo shop along Station 1—now that’s a unique Valentine’s day date idea you will have in Boracay!

5. If you’re single, mingle and try new things!

Get some good food and a glass of drinks or two to celebrate Valentine’s Day at The Epic Bar

To be single on Valentine’s Day is not bad at all when you are on an island where everyone’s relaxed and ready to mingle. You won’t feel alone at Epic Bar, and you can even meet a date in the island’s famous party spot at the heart of Station 2. If you’d rather celebrate your single blessedness, try out fun activities on the white beach of Boracay, like helmet diving and more!

Whether you are somebody’s beau, a single person looking for love, or someone who just enjoys singlehood, you’ll find so many reasons to enjoy Valentine’s Day while in Boracay.
