It is Valentine’s Day next week, but unfortunately, the much-awaited day lies on a weekday. Everyone might be busy with work or school-related stuff. So, it’s wise to bond with your partner or with the whole family in advance! Here’s a list of shows to catch this weekend!

Anastasia Steele seeks a new career at a publishing house after breaking off her relationship with Christian Grey. But when Christian insinuated a new arrangement, Anastasia didn’t resist. She discovers more of Christian’s harrowing past as they rekindle their sexual affair. This time, Anastasia faces the women who came before her as she makes an important decision in her life.

The second installment of the Fifty Shades trilogy is showing on February 8 in cinemas nationwide.

The Lego Batman goes to an adventure to find himself and save the Gotham City from Joker, the antagonist. He will learn a lot about team work and friendship as he faces the responsibility of raising his adopted boy. Directed by Chris McKay, the movie will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and will be showing on February 9 in cinemas nationwide.

Wicked, dubbed by the Daily Mail UK as “one of the greatest musicals of our time,” is back in Manila this February 2017. The musical is based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which tells a story of two sorcery students and their extraordinary adventure in the Land of Oz. Music and lyrics featured in the show are by multi-Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz.

Wicked is being shown at The Theatre at Solaire from February 2 to March 12. Tickets are available at TicketWorld.

Care Divas features a story of five transgender OFW workers in Israel who transform into glamorous performers at night. Trying to make ends meet, they also struggle to seek freedom and acceptance in a foreign land.

Care Divas first graced the Philippine theater stage in 2011, bagging seven trophies for Outstanding Stage Direction, Outstanding Musical Director, Outstanding Musical Production, and Outstanding Ensemble Performance for a Musical. This is written by the award-winning playwright Liza Magtoto.

The critically acclaimed American alternative rock band Goo Goo Dolls is bringing their greatest hits in Manila on February 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The band was formed in the 1980s and is best known for their hits “Iris,” “Slide,” “Name,” and “Naked,” among others. Tickets are available at Ticketnet outlets.

The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) is once again adding a flavor to Aegis’ original music hits this Valentine’s Day under the baton of Maestro Herminigildo Ranera. The PPO will play Valentine Hits Medley with a crossover by the AEGIS and a love song duet with Tenor Arman Ferrer.

Aegis in Symphony, Symphonic Aegis #HugotPaMore will be showing on February 11 at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater). It is presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex Employees Organization with the support of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Sansinukob: Isang Installation na Eksibit is running throughout the month of February at the UP Lagoon area and UP Diliman CMC Hill. The exhibit features seven visual artists from UP Diliman with their works depicting the stories and origin of the sansinukob (universe). The exhibit is free and is open to public.
