San Miguel Corporation (SMC) Infrastructure announced that starting from July 26, the toll fee for the new Skyway connecting to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIAX) would be free for a month for motorists and travelers.

In a statement released by SMC, the intended project is an effort to have a combined collection of toll fees from both NAIAX and Skyway. In this way, motorists would have lesser stops, shorter queues, and smoother travel. The current price for the toll is PhP20 for the Skyway and PhP35 for the NAIAX.

Lessening the traffic congestions on major roadways at the south is also one of the goals of SMC, as they are also planning with their existing skyways, the South Luzon Express Way (SLEX).

SMC also announced that the company is investing in expansion of critical tollgates to accommodate more vehicles at any given time.

According to a data released by SMDC, the daily average for the volume of cars at the NAIAX is 70,000.
