Top Six Hotels and Casinos in Metro Manila 2017

Enjoy a luxurious vacation or place your bets in these hotels and casinos.

While the Resorts World shooting incident has cast a negative light on casinos, it cannot be denied that the gaming industry in the Philippines is experiencing a boom. It’s a business that’s worth Ph188 billion in gross gaming revenue as of 2016 figures, and projected to reach PhP297.35 billion by 2018. At the center of the action is Entertainment City, an enclave of upscale hotels and casinos located in Pasay City.

Last week, we asked our readers their preferred hotels and casinos in the Philippines. Read on to find out who took the top spot.


6. Waterfront Pavilion Hotel & Casino

Starting off our countdown is Waterfront Pavilion Hotel & Casino. This 22-storey building is one of the first hotels in the country and is situated at the heart of Old Manila. Guests can choose from nine types of rooms and suites, while members of Waterfront Ambassador Club can choose from presidential and executive suites.

At the ground floor is the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Pavilion where guests can enjoy casino games at gaming tables or VIP rooms 24 hours a day. They can also watch musical shows or dance the night away at ballroom parties at the Alegria Lounge.


5. Resorts World Manila

Dubbed as the first and largest integrated resort in the country, Resorts World Manila offers a one-stop shop entertainment and leisure destination. The resort houses four hotels, three bars, five restaurants, a convention center, and a mall.

At the casino, players can participate in progressive slots or table games. Resorts World also has regular promotions for guests and VIP players. To help curb the effects of excessive gambling, they have a responsible gaming program focused on information dissemination, professional counseling, and exclusion procedures for affected players.


4. Midas Hotel and Casino

Midas Hotel combines old and new in one luxurious structure.



Ranking fourth in our poll is Midas Hotel and Casino. The hotel building was constructed way back in 1965 and was designed by National Artist Architect Leandro Locsin. Midas Hotel has 22 guest rooms, two restaurants, a bar, spa, boutique, fitness center, and business center.

High rollers can try their luck at Midas Casino, where they can play at slot machines or table games. VIP gaming rooms are located in Midas Penthouse Suites, which is open to Platinum and Gold Rewards Club members. For access to amenities and privileges, casino patrons can sign up for the Midas Casino Loyalty Club.


3. Solaire Resort and Casino

The sprawling Solaire property spans 8.3 ha.



Opened in 2010, Solaire Resort and Casino boasts of 800 rooms in the Bay Tower and Sky Tower, with the latter being awarded five stars in the 2017 Forbes Travel Guide. Solaire has four fine dining restaurants, six casual dining restaurants, an entertainment lounge, grand ballroom, function rooms, shopping center, theater, spa, gym, pool.

The Solaire casino covers 18,500 sq. m. with over 100 gaming tables and about 1,000 slot machines. For their casino loyalty program, they have The Solaire Club. They also advocate responsible gaming by having an exclusion feature for players.


2. City of Dreams Manila

Billion-dollar integrated resort and casino complex City of Dreams Manila came close to bagging the top spot. Within the 6.2-ha. luxury development are three hotels, 23 dining outlets, indoor amusement park for kids, KTV rooms, nightclub, bar, and lounge. Its most famous structure is the Fortune Egg, where Pangea Ultra Lounge and Chaos Club are located.

Gaming enthusiasts can get in on the action with 1,680 slot machines and 1,680 electronic table games. Signature Club, an exclusive gaming area for members, can be found at the north end of the casino. Adding to the gaming options are Kampay and Li Ying.


1. Okada Manila

Okada Manila is dubbed as the crown jewel of Manila Bay.



Bagging first place in our poll is Okada Manila. The US$2.4-billion, 44-ha. property has 993 suites overlooking the Manila Bay. From their rooms, guests can also have a view of The Fountain, the largest multi-hued dancing fountain in the world.

On the other hand, their casino boasts of having the widest array of table games and slots in the country. Players can get access to 3,000 electronic machine games, 500 table games, and 70 progressive-jackpot table games. Loyal customers can sign up for Rewards Circle, a reloadable card which allows members to make purchases anywhere in the resort.
