December is indeed one of the most festive and event-filled months of the year. With everyone gearing up for the gift-giving and the Christmas feast, it seems so stressful to plan everything. However, there are some wonderful concerts and entertaining casino shows in Metro Manila to watch this December if you want to take a break from all the planning.


1. Inigo Pascual Dahil Sa‘Yo A Thanksgiving Concert

Local teen heartthrob Inigo Pascual will exhibit his vocal chops in his concert this December 1. Inigo has reached a breakthrough this year with his song “Dahil Sa‘Yo” (Because of You) which gained multiple air plays in radios and topped local hit charts. His upcoming concert will serve as a ‘thank you’ to his supportive fans.

Tickets are available at Ticketworld outlets and Ticketworld website.

How to get there: Ride a jeep en route to San Juan across the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) along Ortigas Avenue. Alternatively, one can take a bus going to Quiapo. Get off at Greenhills Shopping Center. Music Museum is located within the area.


2. Tyga Live in Manila


When: December 1, 2017, 9:00PM

American hip-hop artist and rapper Tyga will have his Manila concert debut on House Manila this December 1. He has collaborated with artists such as Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, and Kanye West. Tyga’s hit songs include “Wait for a Minute” and “Far Away.”

How to get there:
To get to Resorts World, take the MRT-Line 3 and get off at Taft Avenue Station. Head towards the north-bound side of the station and go down the stairs. Go to the passageway beside McDonald’s then look for a white Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal (NAIA) 3 shuttle commuter bus. The fare for the shuttle is PhP20.




3. Boyzlife


When: December 4, 2017, 8:00PM

Nostalgia will hit the audience at Kia Theatre as two members of 90s boybands Westlife and Boyzone will join forces on December 4. Brian McFadden of Westlife and Keith Duffy of Boyzone will perform famous songs from their respective bands.

How to get there:
Ride the LRT-2 and get off at the Araneta Center-Cubao Station. Take the East Exit and walk along Aurora Boulevard. Turn right to the Gen. Aguinaldo Avenue. You will see Kia Theatre on the left.


4. CNBLUE Between Us

Two years after their Come Together Tour, Korean pop (KPOP) group CNBLUE will have a comeback tour with Between Us tour in support of their latest album 7ºCN which was released this March. The boys of CNBLUE will also celebrate the seventh anniversary of their debut this year.

Among CNBLUE’s hit songs include “LOVE Girl,” “Love Light,” and “Can’t Stop.”

How to get there:
Ride the LRT-2 and get off at the Araneta Center-Cubao Station, then walk towards Gateway Mall. Araneta Coliseum is just behind Gateway Mall.


5. 88Rising Asia Tour


When: December 13, 2017, 9:00PM

One of the most anticipated shows by millennials this year is the Manila leg of the 88Rising Asia Tour, which is presented by W Pagemanx Exclusive Management. The show headlines Indonesian rapper Rich Chigga, Japanese-Australian Joji, and Chinese rap group Higher Brothers. Minors are not allowed at the venue.

6. Musikahan Noon at Ngayon Concierto


When: December 8, 2017, 7:00PM

The old and new generation of music will be featured on Musikahan Noon at Ngayon Concierto at December 8. The artists representing the older generation include Gary Arriola and Bob Guzman of Boyfriends, Male Rigor of VST&CO, Jun and Nitoy Mallillin of Abrakadabra, and D’ Big 3 Sullivans. Representing the new generation are Zendee, Elha Mae Nympha, Kyle Echarri, and Nitoy M.

7. Hark! A Stage Sessions Christmas Concert


When: December 10, 2017. Show starts at 7:00PM
Where: Zobel de Ayala Recital Hall, BGC Arts Center

Local independent singers and spoken-word artists such as Reese Lansangan, Keiko Necesario, Coeli, Gio Levy, Asch, and Jonel Revistual will get together for a Christmas concert this December 10 at the Zobel De Ayala Recital Hall at the BGC Arts Theater. The concert will feature stage sessions of songs from “Pintig ng Pasko”—the stage session’s first produced album.

How to get there: Ride a BGC bus and get off at the Fort Strip/RCBC bus stop and walk 250 m until you reach BGC Arts Center.


Tips for preparing for the event:

• Follow the social media accounts of the artists or the event organizer to be updated on changes and announcements.

• Double-check the dates and times of the events and your own schedule to see if you need to make adjustments.

• To avoid being inconvenienced, check the rules and conditions of the venue.

• Adjust your travel time to consider the heavy traffic that you might encounter on the way.
