Locals and tourists can take a trip to the south of Cebu, where there are many wonderful waterfalls waiting to be explored. They can stop by Carcar City to taste their bocarillo (candied young coconut) and lechon (roast suckling pig). Star apples, locally known as caimito, is also abundant in Cebu this February.

Drivers will also have to pay storage fees ranging from PhP100 to PhP500 per day, depending on vehicle type. The new policy was set in place to reduce the number of road crashes in the city. The Mandaue City Government is also looking into the implementing the same measure.

This February, one fruit in season that tourists and locals can enjoy is star apple. The fruit is called as such because of the star pattern that can be found in the pulp when it is cut in half.

Locally known as caimito, it has two local varieties: a purple-colored fruit known as tapul nga kaymito and a green one called puti nga kaymito. Caimito is rich in phosphorus, calcium, iron, and vitamin C, which makes it a great healthy snack to eat.

PENRO aims to prevent forest fires in Cebu.

The Cebu Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) has asked managers of tourist spots to come up with environmental guidelines. The newly appointed officer-in-charge of PENRO also urged tourists to help protect the environment. This came after reports that a group of Cebuano hikers caused a fire in Mount Pulag, Benguet. Trekking and hiking activities had to be suspended due to the blaze. The PENRO will work together with the Provincial Tourism Office to make sure that similar incidents do not occur in Cebu province.
