Some people may find it odd for anyone to hit a small ball with a club across a huge field, just to put it into a small hole on the other side. Yet this game is one of the most popular sports in the world. And it is one where the player with the lowest score wins.
The province of Cebu is gradually becoming a popular destination for golfers who simply want to spend a lazy weekend afternoon on the fairway. The following are some of the nicest golf clubs in Cebu City that you can visit.

The Black Knight Design Group of Gary Player, a South African pro golf player, designed the 18-hole golf course at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club. The course is made challenging by its narrow fairways and rolling terrain. Players also have to take into account water hazards and strong winds while trying to get an even par on the course.

It is no surprise that Cebu had by now produced a number of skilled golfers who have won numerous regional and national championships. Some of them—like Charles Hong, Lloyd Jefferson Go, and Angelo Jose Gandionco, among others—have even represented the country in international tournaments. The golf clubs of Metro Cebu were their playgrounds before they hit big and made a name in the field.
