For 90s kids out there, here’s a fact that will make you feel old: Aegis will celebrate their 20th anniversary this year. Yes, it has been 20 years! During the past two decades, the band has brought to the OPM scene many melodramatic, timeless hits that are still relatable now. Behind their powerful ballads lies a deeper message of loneliness and pain, and this makes their songs achieve an iconic status that will last for generations to come, maybe even after another 20 years. Some of their hit songs in particular are “Basang Basa sa Ulan” (Very Wet from the Rain), “Luha” (Tears), and “Halik” (Kiss).

Joining them are Anne Curtis, Jericho Rosales, Vice Ganda, and Karla Estrada. Jett Pangan is also in line to perform.

How to get to Smart Araneta Coliseum: Take the LRT-2 then get off at Araneta Center-Cubao Station. If coming from EDSA, ride the MRT and get off at Araneta-Cubao Station. Exit the station and walk to Gateway Mall. You will find the coliseum right behind the mall.

Within just a year, Ex Battalion has already achieved so many things. For one, their song “Hayaan Mo Sila” (Let Them Be) can be heard literally everywhere—from radio stations to even the past local election campaigns. The blessings are still coming for the boys of Ex Battalion, or EX-B as their fans call them, as the group will be having their first major solo concert just in time for their first anniversary. Joining them will be singer Julie Anne San Jose, OPM band Silent Sanctuary, and fellow Filipino hip-hop artist Shanti Dope.

Tickets are available at Ticketnet outlets and Ticketnet online.

How to get to Ynares Sports Arena Pasig: Ride the MRT-3 to Shaw Boulevard Station. From there, ride a jeep heading to “Pasig Palengke” and ask the driver to drop you off at Ynares Sports Center.

Metro Manila has played host to many big names in the music industry for years, and as such, many pop sensations and divas have graced major venues in the megacity to delight their Filipino fans. For members of Team Celine, July is a time for rejoicing as their idol, Celine Dion, will finally have her first show in Metro Manila. Dion was supposed to perform in Manila in 2014, but the show was cancelled as she had to take care of her sick husband, who passed away two years later.

Besides “My Heart Will Go On,” her iconic contribution to the Titanic soundtrack, Dion is also behind classics such as “To Love You More,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” and “The Power of Love.” Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

When: July 24, 8:00 PM
Where: ABS-CBN Vertis Tent, Quezon City
Ticket Prices: PhP4,120 for Price Level 1

Karpos Live is the result of an intent to “uplift homegrown acts,” “present international acts,” and “give people a good time.” This July, they are bringing Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals and HONNE to Quezon City. Anderson Paak is a 32-year-old artist whose most recent album, Malibu, made it to Rolling Stone’s 20 best RNB albums for 2016. He has also collaborated with Ariana Grande’s former flame Mac Miller on the latter’s album The Divine Feminine. Meanwhile, HONNE gained popularity after their song “Someone That Loves You” became a hit in 2016, and this popularity has only grown after the release of their single, “Day 1.”

Tips when buying tickets and watching live concerts:

  • Keep tabs on sudden changes or announcements about the schedule or concert regulations by following the social media accounts of the organizers and the artists.
  • Some acts tend to have sold-out concerts. To make sure you get a spot in a very in-demand concert, reserve early.
  • Avoid being late at the concert by allocating an extra hour for the unpredictable traffic.
  • Make sure you arrive early since early birds often get the best parking spots.
  • Arrive early at the venue to get a good seat if your ticket is for free seating.
  • In the venue, practice basic courtesy. Do not take reserved seats!
  • Always keep an eye on your personal belongings.
  • Be mindful of the dress codes but at the same time, try to wear something comfortable so you can enjoy the show.
  • Just like in other places and events, following the rules and regulations is vital. You don’t want to miss out on the fun by having to be escorted out of the venue.
