It hasn’t ended yet, but we can already say that 2018 was a great year for foodies because of the new restaurants that emerged from various hotspots in Manila. In case you missed testing your taste buds on the offerings of these joints, make November your month to try something new. Here are new restaurants in the south—around Makati, Parañaque, and Taguig—where you can treat yourself to interesting delicacies.


1. Q&A Kitchen + Bar

Where: ACCM Building, 102 San Agustin Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City
Operating hours: Monday to Saturday
Lunch 11:30AM to 2:30PM
Dinner 6:00PM to 10:00PM
Bar 5:00PM till late
Price range: PhP75 to PhP1,250

Recently opened last October, Q&A Kitchen + Bar has a sophisticated menu that caters to those who feast with their eyes and mouth. Each dish is enough to captivate any diner who visits their Salcedo Village location.

Expect every meal to be made with love and hand-picked ingredients. In fact, they make their pastas every day to guarantee the freshness! For those who love to end their night with a bang, the restaurant also offers a wide variety of alcoholic drinks.


2. Holy Cow Sizzlers

Operating hours: Sunday to Thursday, 11:00AM to 11:00PM; Friday and Saturday, 11:00AM to 12AM

Holy Cow is a getaway for anyone who wants to devour mouthwatering steaks.

Holy Cow Sizzlers brings the Wild, Wild West to the south with their latest branch at BF Homes Parañaque Branch. They offer an array of flavorful and popular American dishes, from appetizers to desserts, such as burgers, steaks, onion rings, buffalo wings, salads, and more. If you’re planning on eating something light, you can try their appetizers such as calamares and mushroom soup. But if you want a meal that can fill you up for the whole day, try their wide range of steaks and ribs.

Holy Cow Sizzlers has other branches located in SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, and Robinsons Place Manila.


3. Fiery Style

Where: Forbes Town Center, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City
Operating hours: Every day, 10:00AM to 10:00PM

When we hear the word “fiery,” we usually associate it with something that is bright, passionate, and vivid. And with Fiery Style’s interiors and the flavors of their dishes, “fiery” is indeed the right word to capture it. Stepping inside this eatery is like traveling to Mexico itself as each decor is heavily influenced by Mexican culture.

Fiery Style has different styles of tacos and burritos and other must-try dishes like Mexican street croquettes, fajitas, quesadillas, and churros. Be prepared though: most of the items in the menu are spicy. If you can’t take too much heat, there are other items in the menu worth trying such as steaks and burgers.


4. Chao Shan Beef Taste

Where: Ground Floor, Three Central, Valero Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City
Operating hours: Every day, 11:00AM to 2:00AM
Price range: PhP60 to PhP450

If you’ve been getting tired of grilling samgyupsal (Korean grilled pork belly) all-year long, here’s an alternative that is just as tasty. Chao Shan Beef Taste might be relatively new compared to other samgyupsal joints, but many of its early customers noted that the restaurant has an impressive array of choices for meat.

There are also hotpots, salads, beef stews, and other authentic Chinese dishes that you can try on the side when you’re not grilling. Although there are no alcoholic drinks available, there are healthier beverage options such as tea.


5. Charlie's Grind & Grill

Where: 172 Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes, Parañaque City
Operating hours: 2:00PM to 1:00AM
Price range: PhP95 to PhP625

Charlie’s Grind & Grill is a restaurant suitable for those who love eating fried food.

You don’t have to drive all the way to Pasig to taste the famous burgers of Charlie’s Grind & Grill, as they have recently opened their newest branch at BF Homes. As with their main store, you can choose between different kinds of Wagyu and Angus burger. Even though they are more known for their juicy patties and burgers, they also offer sandwiches, cheesesteaks, and pastas.

If you’re craving for more fried food, then you’ll love their different kinds of fries such as the classic cheese fries, black truffle fries, and garlic and parmesan fries. For those with a sweet tooth, they have milkshakes in different flavors as well as cakes.




6. Kite Kebab Bar

Where: Bautista Corner Tordesillas Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City
Operating hours: Sunday to Thursday, 11:00AM to 3:00AM; Friday and Saturday, 11:00AM to 4:00AM
Price range: PhP75 to PhP899

Kite Kebab Bar is called a “sanctuary” by its regular customers due to its calming atmosphere and ambience, not to mention the food which is great for those who want to unwind after a stressful day at work or school. And when you’re not too busy eating all the food on your plate, you can marvel at the antique displays and paintings around the bar.

In Kite Kebab Bar, expect a bounty of Mediterranean dishes like kebab, pita bread, and shawarma. If you like your dish a certain way, you can ask the staff to make your order spicy, sweet, or salty.
