Summer is just right around the corner, and with it comes plans for vacations outside the country or trips to splendid beaches and resorts. If you are trying to save money and spend summer on a budget, you might think that it is harder to have fun. Fortunately, this isn’t the case thanks to the various events, parties, and celebrations happening this month. Although some of them cater to specific interests, these events in Bacolod this March 2019 might take you by surprise on how fun they could be, so give them a chance. 1. Otsukare (SOPE Birthday Celebration)

When: March 9, 2019; 1 PM to 5 PM
Where: Baldevia Function Hall
Ticket Price: PhP120

Otsukare is a double celebration of the birthdays of K-pop idols Min Yoongi and Jung Hoseok. Ming Yoongi, famously known as Suga, is the lead rapper of Bangtan Boys. He is also a songwriter, as well as one of the major music producers of K-pop group BTS. Similar to Suga, Jung Hoseok, who is more popularly known as J-hope, is also a songwriter, rapper, and record producer. Before he made his way to BTS, he was part of an underground dance team called Neuron and was known for his dancing skills before his debut in BTS.

Tips: Interact with your fellow fans and make new friends!

How to get there: From the Ceres North Terminal, ride a Bata–Libertad jeep and ask the driver to drop you off at Baldevia Function Hall in Downtown Bacolod.



2. KPOP Dream Festival 4: Euphoria

When: March 10, 2019
Where: MYTMCC Bago City Coliseum
Ticket Price: PhP150

This event features the biggest and grandest K-pop dance cover competition in the entire Visayas region. Different competing teams will battle to be the hailed as number one. For solid K-pop fans, Euphoria not only has a dance cover competition but also fan club booths, a fashion show, random play dance, and more. Special guests Ramjay Galang, Francis Gellang, Jerick Crisostomo, and Yohan Verzon will also be there. The proceeds of the event will benefit Project Kalipay, a non-profit organization that believes in doing one good deed at a time.

Tips: Try to participate in all the activities so you can make the most out of the event.

How to get there: From Libertad, take a Pulupandan-bound jeepney and asked to be dropped off to the coliseum.


3. Party Like the '80s

When: March 16, 2019
Where: Sky Deck, Stonehill Suites
Ticket Price: PhP300

Party Like the 80’s will transport its guests back almost 40 decades in the past. In this event, listen and groove to the hits of the ’80s and also the ’90s from DJ Whice, Dj Boyet Sison, and DJ Jon Tupaz— iconic DJs from the country’s most iconic clubs. Make sure to come prepared with your hottest dance moves!



Tips: Dress in a party outfit that’s not only chic but also comfortable. Make sure to hydrate well during the event!

How to get there: Either take a Bata or Mandalagan jeep which passes by the main roads of Bacolod. Ask to be dropped off in Starbucks Lacson. Walk a few steps and you will instantly see Stonehill Suites.


4. Pasigabong Festival 2019

When: March 31, 2019
Where: Bacolod South Road, Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City
Ticket Price: free

Inspired by Masskara Festival, Pasigabong Festival also uses colorful and eye-catching costumes sans the bright and colorful masks. It primarily showcases the dance routines and colorful costumes of people in Barangay Granada. The opening salvo of the festival will happen on the 30th, while additional activities like bingo and a pageant will happen on the 31th.

Tips: Be courteous and respectful of the customs of the locals when you attend the festival.

How to get there: From Burgos market, take the public utility vehicle with a Granada route and ask the driver to drop you off to the barangay proper of Granada.
