Unleash your creativity in gift-wrapping and use the things around your house like old magazines, newspapers, and even shoeboxes to wrap your holiday gifts. You can also use unconventional items like clothes to wrap oddly-shaped gifts or glass containers like mason jars for packing edible items or jewelry. Even unused small Christmas ornaments make for lovely gift-wrapping decorations! Show the planet a little love by practicing the virtue of reusing and recycling.

Handmade pouches, shampoo bars, candles made from soy wax, reusable cups or bottles, and utensils and toiletries made of bamboo are some eco-friendly products that are practical to give.

It is common knowledge that plastic is harmful to the environment. It can negatively affect all kinds of living things, and continuous use of it leads to dangerous consequences. With so much plastic in the surroundings, one of the simplest solutions to reduce plastic consumption is to opt for reusable bags instead of plastic bags.
Using eco-bags when shopping is advantageous. Unlike plastic bags that are easy to break, they are more durable. You wouldn’t have to worry about buying too many holiday gifts or too much food for Noche Buena because reusable bags are spacious, and you can put all kinds of items in them, making them more convenient. Plus, you don’t even have to buy one! You can use an old tote bag or make one out of old pillowcases or shirts for an eco-friendly Christmas!

Christmas is that time of the year when family and friends come to visit, making it a must to have food to serve your guests. But did you know that besides plastic bags, Christmas dinner leftovers are also one of the most discarded wastes during the holiday? To avoid food waste, set a realistic expectation of how much food your family and visitors will consume.
And for a greener Noche Buena this year, choose recipes that don’t need too many ingredients and are easy to cook. If you can’t estimate the amount of food consumed, at least try to choose dishes that will keep well as leftovers. Avoid individually wrapped food when shopping for groceries, and buy in bulk to lessen food package waste. Lastly, avoid serving food on disposable dishes and cutlery.
