For one, cosplayers can attend Playground EX, where a mobile gaming and a card trading tournament will also happen. For a convention on a more serious topic, there’s Kasal at Kotilyon to help engaged couples in their wedding preparations. 1. Playground EX

Costume playing, which is more popularly known as cosplaying, is how fans bring to life their favorite characters from films, games, and TV series. Cosplaying involves dressing up in a costume, copying the exact look of the fictional character and even mimicking the moves. Over the years, successful cosplay events have been held, encouraging a lot of young people and adults to join cosplay expos like Playground EX, the biggest pop culture event in Negros.
Aside from cosplaying, the event will be filled with activities like a K-pop/Jpop dance competition, mobile gaming and trading card tournaments, and a showcase of life-sized statues and anime figurines. This child-friendly event will also have food stalls, carnival games, and a photo booth.
Tip for a better experience: Want to cosplay for the event? Look for costume rentals in Facebook shops like Wonderland PH and Ira Nichole’s Tailoring Shop and Supplies.
How to get to theSMX Convention Center, SM City Bacolod: Ride a Fortune Towne-Central Market PUV if you are coming from the east area of the city. Then ask to be dropped off in the north side of SM City Bacolod. If you are from the old airport or Sum-ag area, find a Pta.Taytay jeepney. Meanwhile, if you’re along Lacson Street, ride a Bata-Libertad or Mandalagan-Libertad jeepney. Get off at SM City Bacolod. The SMX Convention Center is within the mall complex.

Part of Playground EX is a Magic the Gathering Standard Format Tournament. Magic the Gathering is a collectible card game in which players use cards to battle each other. The tournament will have a cash prize pool of PhP50,000. The best player will win PhP21,000, a champion trophy, and a custom playmat. The registration fee comes with a 2-day pass for Playground EX, a lanyard, and a participation badge.
Tip for a better experience: Do a playtest before the games start. Go around and observe other players’ strategies before playing.
3. Bacolod: Proving Grounds: A Mobile Legends Tournament

Registration Fee:PhP200 per team member
This is the first Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament in Negros.

Gather your squad and slay your enemies to be the best player in Proving Grounds: A Mobile Legends Tournament, which will also be a part of Playground EX. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is a popular mobile game among Filipinos of all ages and it is even a part of the Southeast Asian Games 2019! An elimination round will take place on the first day of the tournament. On the second day, the best teams will play for the semi-finals and finals. The champion will be awarded with a PhP12,000 cash prize and a gift check worth PhP1,500.
Tip for a better experience: Recruit a sixth player or a reserve in your team in case of emergencies during the event or game time.

Having the perfect wedding is every couple’s dream, but planning it can be stressful especially if you don’t know where to find vendors. To help couples make practical decisions on their wedding preparations is Kasal at Kotilyon 2019, a wedding and debut expo that will be held on the grounds of Ayala Malls Capitol Central. The expo’s purpose is to promote and showcase event suppliers, wedding filmmakers, and event planners in Bacolod.
The expo is hosted by Kasal.com, the first Philippine-based wedding information website. You can pre-register online and get reminders, updates, special event promos, and a coupon for the raffle draw during the event.
