Six New Dining Options to Try in Boracay This 2017

No matter your preference, eating out in Boracay just got more exciting.

With its ever-increasing number of visitors, more restaurants and new dining options continue to sprout on this world-famous island. From popular fast food chains to unique concept restaurants, there are several new additions to the ever-growing gastronomic landscape of Boracay. The next time you’re hungry, check out these places where you can grab a bite.


1. Savoy Café


Operating Hours: 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM Daily
Where: Savoy Hotel, Boracay Newcoast, Barangay Yapak, Boracay Island

Savoy Café is one of three dining outlets at Savoy Hotel Boracay. Located at the lower ground floor of the six-storey hotel, Savoy Café offers modern cuisine with a casual dining ambiance. The main attraction of the restaurant is its theater kitchen, where guests can see how their food is prepared, as well as live cooking shows, and even cooking classes. The café serves food buffet-style for breakfast and à la carte dishes for lunch and dinner. Prices start at PhP300.

The four-star Savoy Hotel is nestled at the heart of Boracay NewCoast, a 150-ha. integrated tourism estate by Megaworld.


2. Jollibee


Operating Hours: 24/7
Where: Main Road, Barangay Balabag, Boracay Island

Located along the main road in Station 2, the first stand-alone branch of Jollibee in Boracay is the 998th store in the country for the Filipino fast-food chain giant. The store serves the entire Jollibee menu, including perennial favorites like its famous Chickenjoy and Jolly Spaghetti. There is however a PhP10 to PhP15 price difference compared to its other branches. Opened on April 8, the branch has a seating capacity of 356 persons. With its spacious location, the store also caters to events and parties. Jollibee also has a kiosk at CityMall which follows mall hours at 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.


3. KFC Boracay


Operating Hours: 7:00 AM to 2:00 AM
Where: Ground Floor, Peninsula Hotel, Station 2, White Beach, Boracay Island

Another fast-food giant that has entered Boracay is Kentucky Fried Chicken, more known as KFC. The store just opened on September 8. With its beachfront location, the store is easy to spot along Station 2. The branch offers their classic chicken meal and their newest offerings like Coronel's Bucket Meal and shawarma rice bowl. Though a portion of the restaurant remains under construction, the store is already on its regular operations with a seating capacity of more than 100 persons.


4. Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf


Operating Hours: 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM
Where: One Central Boracay Building, Station 1, Barangay Balabag, Boracay Island

The Boracay branch of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) is their newest store in the country. The American company is likewise a newcomer to the lineup of famous coffee chains in the island. They serve their original-blend coffee and refreshing drinks along with gourmet salads, sandwiches, and pasta dishes. The coffee shop which opened last April can be found along the main road. The location is a good spot to cool down from the heat, with its proximity to the famous grotto. The store likewise offers packaged coffee beans, teas, and other CBTL merchandise.


5. Streetmarket Boracay


Operating Hours: 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Where: Station X, Hue Hotel, Main Road Corner Boracay Food Street, Station 2, Boracay Island

If you intend to go on a food trip, Streetmarket has seven restaurants you could choose from. Offering a picnic-style dining, it is the first and the newest hip food hall in the island. You could mix and match different flavors all in one spot. Streetmarket fully opened in early April.

For a taste of Mexican flavors, Santa Peligrosa offers tacos and burritos, and other favorites made with ingredients from Mexico. If you prefer Italian comfort food, Diavolo serves brick-oven pizzas. Their porchetta (boneless pork roast) is also a crowd favorite. If you’re looking for an izakaya (Japanese gastropub) on the island, Poketo is one place you can visit. The restaurant serves Japanese favorites like yakitori (skewered chicken) bowls, tempura, and more. For a blend of Southeast Asian flavors, the place to check out is Fat Rice. Fat Rice serves dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, among others, all bursting with flavors and spices. On the other hand, Percy will answer your seafood cravings with their cioppino (seafood stew), poke (fish salad), oysters, and more. If deep-fried chicken is your comfort food, Winner Winner serves everything fried. Their best-seller is their home-style buttermilk fried chicken. For a sweet finish, Sugar Cloud offers bingsu, the famous shaved ice dessert from Korea, but with a different twist.


6. Sapphire by Hennan Crystal Sands Resorts


Operating Hours: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Where: Beachfront, Station 2, White Beach, Boracay Island

On soft opening since September 29, Sapphire is the newest addition to the list of upscale restaurants in Boracay. It is the main food outlet of Hennan Crystal Sands located at the beachfront in Station 2. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant has Filipino-inspired interiors, and offers modern coastal cuisine from all over the world. With its beachfront location, the restaurant is surely to catch the attention of passersby.
