With the start of the rainy season, the beaches may not be the best place to spend your time in the Queen City of the South. The month of June has a number of events lined up for locals and visitors. A concert, a musical show, and three expos are just some of the events to keep you occupied while staying indoors and out of the rain.


1. Boyce Avenue with Moira

Where: Grand Ballroom, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino
When: June 2
Prices: PhP4,000 for VIP seats; PhP3,000 for Gold seats; PhP2,000 for Silver seats; PhP2,000 for the sponsors row; PhP1,500 for Bronze seats; PhP1,200 for the Upper Balcony; PhP800 for General Admission

The Manzano brothers of Boyce Avenue, together with Moira, will serenade the Cebuanos on the first Saturday of June.

One of the hottest YouTube sensations is coming back to Cebu. Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel Manzano of Boyce Avenue will serenade Cebuanos with acoustic covers of popular songs as well as their originals. Himig Handog 2017 winner, Moira, will join the Florida-based band in this one-night-only concert at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

How to get to Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino: from SM City Cebu, you can ride a jeepney headed for Lahug and get off at Cebu IT Park. The hotel is located right across Cebu IT Park.

Tip: Set a budget for your food, drinks, and transportation. You can also plan your concert outfit ahead of time so you won’t feel out of place at the venue.


2. This is BAM

Where: The Terraces at Ayala Center Cebu
When: June 3
Prices: Free

Students and teachers of the Brown Academy of Music get to show off their talents in a free concert in the first week of June.

The students and faculty of the Brown Academy of Music will hold an end-of-summer concert to showcase their talents and what they learned at school. Established and managed by world-renowned singer Anna Fegi and husband Adam, the Brown Academy of Music aims to develop the talent and creativity of their students and teachers.

How to get to Ayala Center Cebu: From SM City Cebu, ride a jeepney to Ayala Center Cebu.

Tip: Seating in free admission concerts is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so you should go to the venue to get to choose where you want to sit.




3. Tactical, Survival, and Arms Expo

Where: Cebu Trade Hall, SM City Cebu
When: June 15 to 18
Prices: Free

Be prepared for a zombie apocalypse at the Tactical, Survival, and Arms Expo.

One event every security-conscious Cebuano should not miss is the Tactical, Survival, and Arms Expo. It is an exhibition where traditional weapons and survival gear are showcased along with firearms and weapon accessories. Organized by ARMSCOR, a leading firearms manufacturer in the country, and managed by Tradeshow International, Inc. Philippines, the exhibition aims to deal with global issues on security, the environment, and economic uncertainty, among others.

Tip: Get a map of the show floor and make a schedule so you can visit all vendors at the event.


4. 26th Construction Show Cebu

The 26th Construction Show Cebu is the biggest construction show in Southern Philippines

The 26th Construction Show Cebu is heaven-sent for Cebuanos who are looking to build their first home. Running on its 26th year, the event brings together some of the big names in the construction industry. It is the biggest and longest-running construction event in the Visayas and Mindanao area. Aside from the exhibit, seminars about the latest technology available in the industry are also held at the event.

How to get to SM Seaside City Cebu: From SM City Cebu, you can get on a MyBus headed for SM City Seaside Cebu.

Tip: Create a checklist of the vendors you want to visit to make the most out of your stay at the expo.


5. Sugbo Entertainment Expo

Where: The Atrium of Robinsons Galleria Cebu
When: June 23 to 24
Prices: PhP1,000 for Artist Alley participants (maximum of three persons); PhP350 for one Artist Alley participant

Animators, game developers, illustrators and cosplay participants show their wares at the Sugbo Entertainment Expo.

As part of the Cebu Business Month, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will bring together local talents in animation, game development, and comic illustration at the Sugbo Entertainment Expo. In addition, a cosplay competition will also be held at one of the flagship events of the organization. The winner of the cosplay competition can take home a grand prize of up to PhP3,000.

How to get to Robinsons Galleria Cebu: From Robinsons Fuente Cebu, you can ride a shuttle bus to Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Tip: If you are planning to join a cosplay competition, choose your costume wisely so it will complement your build and appearance.
