Since November is the eleventh month of the year, it is only fitting to have numerous events for this penultimate month of the year. Visitors and residents have something to look forward to every week because of fun events in Cebu this November 2019. A concert from a well-loved band kicks off the month, which will also feature a play, a hobbies bazaar, and a gathering of anime lovers and tech enthusiasts. Fittingly, the last weekend will also feature a concert to end November on a high note.

1. Aegis in Cebu

When: November 7, 2019
Where: Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Salinas Drive, Cebu City

The first week of November will see the legendary Aegis Band rocking Cebu for the nth time.

On the first Thursday of November, Cebuanos will once again feel the earth shaking vocals of Aegis on their one-night-only concert in Cebu. Aegis in Cebu brings back the phenomenal pop band to the shores of the Queen City of the South. Led by their lead vocalists, Juliet and Mercy Sunot, the popular OPM band will bring the audience to their feet as they show their vocal prowess with their best-loved hits.

Tip: For general admission concerts, you may want to be at the venue early to get the best seats in the event.

2. Les Miserables - School Edition

Taking a cue from its successful run in August, Broadway Youth Cebu is bringing back the Les Miserables - School Edition for a final run on November 8 and 9. Based on the famous novel by Victor Hugo, the show is Cebu’s take on the longest-running musical at West End. Headlined by students from different schools in Cebu, it showcases the artistic and theatrical talent of the youth of Cebu.

Tip: Attending a musical means focusing on the show, so you should turn off your phone or at least set it to silent during the show.

How to get to the University of San Carlos –Main Campus: From Ayala Center Cebu, get on a jeepney going to Ramos Street and tell the driver to let you off at the corner of the USC Gym. The entrance to the gym is a few meters away from the corner.



3. Hobby Bazaar Y4

When: November 10-11, 2019

Anime fans will get the chance to obtain pre-loved gear from fellow enthusiasts at the Hobby Bazaar hosted by the Cebu Cosplayers Guild.

Anime lovers and cosplayers will have the chance to buy and sell merchandise at the Hobby Bazaar Y4. Hosted by the Cebu Cosplayers Guild, the event will give enthusiasts the chance to raise funds they need for upcoming events. It will also allow them to free up some space in their cabinets or let go of any pre-loved items for people who may be interested in getting one for themselves.

Tip: To get the most of your bazaar buying spree, make a list of what you want and compare prices of each booth to find the best deal.

How to get to J Centre Mall: From Ayala Center Cebu, hop on a jeepney headed for J Centre Mall at the Ayala Center Cebu Jeepney Terminal. Make sure to ask the driver if he will pass by the mall since some jeepneys do pass by the mall on certain days of the week.


4. Official Launching of the Santo Niño At 500 Celebrations

When: November 13, 2019

The official launching of the 500 Years of the Santo Niño is set to be held on November 13.

On April 14, 2021, Cebu will commemorate the 500 years since the arrival of the beloved image of the Santo Niño. In preparation for this momentous event, the Official Launching of the Santo Niño At 500 Celebrations will be held at the Santo Niño Church on November 13. The launching is part of the activities held to commemorate the quincentennial anniversary of Christianity in the country.

Tip: When attending religious events, it is advisable to wear clothing appropriate for the event.

How to get to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu: From Ayala Center Cebu, get on a Beep bus headed for the Cebu City Hall. The Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu is located right across the city hall.



5. Flares - Cubs 3rd Anniversary

When: November 16, 2019

The Cebu United Bears Society is set to celebrate its 3rd anniversary at the Bacalla Woods Campsite. The Flares - Cubs 3rd Anniversary will feature a bonfire, stargazing, and games. Performances by talented performers are also expected during the event. Non-members are also welcome to attend the activity of the group, who are mainly Cebu-based LGBT community members. The event is also for the benefit of The Children of Cebu Foundation, Inc.

Tip: It is advisable to put on mosquito repellant when attending events deep in the woods.

How to get to Bacalla Woods Campsite: From SM City Cebu, you can get on a jeepney headed for the Cebu South Bus Terminal. From South Bus Terminal, get on a bus headed for San Fernando and ask the driver to off at the corner going to Hidden Paradise Mountain Resort. Ride a motorcycle-for-hire to get to the Bacalla Woods Campsite.


6. Romantic Intimate Concert with Brian McFadden

When: November 16, 2019

Fans of the original Westlife can relive the glory days of their favorite boy band as Brian McFadden is set to hold a one-night-only concert at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. Joining the Irish singer and songwriter at the Romantic Intimate Concert with Brian McFadden is Zephanie, the first Idol Philippines grand champion.

J Centre Mall will host this year’s gathering of anime enthusiasts and hobbyists on the third weekend of November.

The third weekend of November will see hobbyists coming together for ARCHcon Cebu 2019. The event is the biggest annual convention for tech enthusiasts and hobbyists in Cebu. ARCHcon, which is taken from Anime, Role-Playing Games, Comics, and Hobbies Convention, will see a cosplay event participated by international cosplayers BoiledCurry and Knitemaya. The event will also feature several eSports competitions, including Dota 2, TeamFight Tactics, League of Legends, and Tekken 7.

Tip: Conventions provide people the opportunity to network so bring all the calling cards you have and give it to potential clients or contacts at the event.

November 23 will see December Avenue returning to Cebu for a Concert For A Cause at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City. Headlined by the Manila-based band, the concert also features local artists, including Yessha, Wonder Girls of Cebu, Silhouette Band, Cebu Signature Models, Souledge, and The Big Fat Divas and The Mojitos. This limited-entry concert is for the benefit of the Orphanage Missionaries of the Poor Little Lamb Center.

Tip: Concerts with limited admissions offer a limited number of tickets so it is advisable to get one as early as possible.
