With the sun blazing in its full glory, every one of us want to escape the heat and have a nice vacation. But the complexity of planning, looking for a nice location, and the horrendous traffic stop us from achieving our dream escapade.

However, the staycation trend has been growing in popularity over the years, and looks like it is here to stay. Staycation means having a great vacation while staying close to home. And with the real estate business in full swing in our country and the abundance of luxurious hotels, looking for a quick getaway is now easier than ever.

First on the list is Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, located in Pasay City. This historic hotel opened in 1976 and was designed by National Artist Leandro Locsin. Then called the Philippine Plaza, the hotel was originally owned by the government to serve the accommodation needs of foreign delegates. Years later, it was sold to French hotel group AccorHotels which made it into a premier luxury hotel now known as Sofitel Manila.

The hotel has 609 rooms and 46 suites which provide guests with a luxurious space and a great view of Manila Bay. The rooms emanate simple elegance with a mix of French and Filipino influences in design. Aside from the fabulous rooms, Sofitel Manila is also famous for their oasis-like pool and their buffet restaurant, Spiral. Spiral is a popular buffet restaurant with its 21 food ateliers boasting of different cuisines and specialties representing various parts of the world.

On number five in our list is Jin Jiang Inn. Originally from China, Jin Jiang Hotels is known for their luxury accommodations in their home country. In 2014, they entered the Philippine market and focused on serving business travellers, hence, they put up their first two properties in Ortigas and Makati. Hotel of Asia Inc. brought the brand in the country and plans to open 15 more hotels in the coming years.

Although the hotels of Jin Jiang Inn are meant for businessmen, you can still enjoy a staycation in the city with their properties if you prefer to relax in a nearby area. They have a business room good for a solo vacationer, a triple room, and business twin room perfect for a family or group of friends. They also have a business suite for couples who are looking for an escape. The twin towers also light up at night, giving the Ortigas skyline an iconic view.
