Cebu Pacific announced that they will no longer charge rebooking fees to their customers. In a statement, the carrier said that rebooking fees caused by changes on flight schedules would be free of charge, if the changes were made within 24 hours from the time of the original booked flight.

Passengers were previously required to pay PhP1,500 rebooking fee for domestic flights. Changes to short-haul international flight bookings were PhP2,300, while long-haul international flights cost PhP2,800.

Along with rebooking fees, penalty fees for bookings that affect flight sequence would also be removed. Transfer of additional services like baggage allowance, pre-ordered meals, and seat selection would be free of extra charges.

The dismissal of rebooking and cancellation fees is applicable to all Cebu Pacific booking channels. Despite the termination of rebooking and cancellation fees, passengers are still required to pay for the fare difference.

Cebu Pacific Vice President for Corporate Affairs Paterno Mantaring Jr. added that the decision of the company to waive rebooking and cancellation fee was based from passengers’ concerns, particularly those who bought low-fare tickets.
