Quezon City is packed with great places that are runner-friendly! Read our list of great running spots in Quezon City and get fit this year. No need to enroll at a gym, buy fancy equipment, or use traffic as an excuse when you’re lazy. All you need is a good outfit and a sturdy pair of running shoes, and you’re good to go. And the best part of choosing jogging as your fitness regimen?


1. Quezon Memorial Circle

Where: Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City

Circle your way around Quezon Memorial Circle and get fit.

Aside from being an excellent leisure park, Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) is well-known as a haven for fitness buffs. This jogging place in Quezon City is a favorite spot for runners in the morning and at night. You can visit as early as 7:00 AM to start your day with an adrenaline rush.

Head to the shrine where the remains of President Manuel L. Quezon lie and do basic stretching exercises before you start your run. Once ready, you can circle the shrine or run park loop of the park, which totals 1.8 kilometers once completed.


2. University of the Philippines Diliman

Where: Diliman, Quezon City

Run along with other runners and bikers and complete UP’s Academic Oval.

Another favorite of runners in Quezon City is the campus of the University of the Philippines, Diliman (UPD). The university’s paved roads, tall trees, and fresh air have become a favorite among fitness enthusiasts, not to mention the yummy street food stalls around the school and the nearby Maginhawa Street, perfect for an after-run food trip.

One of the best running routes in UPD is the Academic Oval, with a lane dedicated solely to runners and cyclists. While running, you’ll also pass by the iconic Oblation statue and view the Sunken Garden. Complete the oval, and you’d have just run 2.2 kilometers.

The Oval is open daily from 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.


3. Veterans Memorial Golf Course

Where: Mindanao Avenue, Project 6, Quezon City

Veterans Memorial Golf Course may not be famous to runners as it is a gated facility, but they welcome runners alongside the other golfers on their field. Aside from the gorgeous golf course in this running spot in Quezon City, Veterans also dedicated a path for runners who wish to enjoy the greeneries and fresh air inside their establishment.

The running path inside Veterans Memorial starts at the right side of the main gate, where you’ll find a concrete way. Just follow the fairway green passing leftwards, and it’ll lead you to a tree-lined road towards the chapel that circles back to the entrance. The whole route will give you a complete 2-kilometer run.

It is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.



4. Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center

Where: Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City

Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center is also perfect for an afternoon run and a photo walk.

Another beautiful park perfect for running is the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center. The park is home to rescued, donated, sick, and abandoned animals that are being taken care of by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). It has also become a popular leisure area for families and friends because of its extensive facilities and picnic grounds.

For runners, the 22.7-hectare park has also become a favorite with its barely polluted running routes. Aside from being noise- and smoke-free, Wildlife Center’s abundant trees, concrete paths, and beautiful lagoon make it an ideal place for running. Traverse the lagoon’s banks, and you’re sure to complete a 1.4-kilometer run.


5. La Mesa EcoPark

Where: Brgy. Fairview, Quezon City

Traverse La Mesa Eco Park’s nature trail and be one with Mother Earth.

Travel further up north, and find a fabulous running place in La Mesa EcoPark. The 33-hectare park is a favorite among locals because of its various facilities, including a saltwater swimming pool, a lagoon for fishing, biking, and zip line adventure. Take note that this well-maintained park has an entrance fee of PhP50. It is open to the public from 6:00 AM to 12:00 NN.

For runners, you can try the Petron Fitness and Mountain Bike Trail inside this jogging place in Quezon City, which stretches up to 1.2 kilometers. You can also challenge yourself to run up the hundreds of steps toward the La Mesa Watershed.



6. Amoranto Sports Complex

Where: 140 Don A. Roces Ave, Diliman, Quezon City

Feel like an Olympian while running at Amoranto Sports Complex.

For those who prefer a facility fit for athletes, you can also visit Amoranto Sports Complex with a low entrance fee of PhP5. The sports complex was built in 1966 and has been a favorite venue for various sports-related events, from public to private ones. Last 2005, the cycling track event of the 23rd Southeast Asian Games was even held here.

You can run like you’re in the Olympics and circle their 400-meter oval running the course in the middle of their stadium that can handle 15,000 people. Aside from running, they also have other sports facilities, including a multipurpose gym, tennis courts, boxing and weightlifting gym, and badminton courts.


October 2022 Update: The stadium is under renovation and is expected to be completed this year.
