February is also known as the National Arts Month in the Philippines. To celebrate this, one could pay a visit to several local museums such as the National Museum. However, those coming from Shaw Boulevard might consider using alternative routes due to the ongoing construction on Sevilla Bridge. Also happening this week is the travel expo at the SM Mall of Asia.

Sevilla Bridge connects Manila and Mandaluyong.

Repair operations and construction work in Sevilla Bridge in Mandaluyong City have already started on the last week of January. As such, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) suggested alternative routes to commuters who frequently pass through the bridge.

According to the MMDA’s traffic management plan, the affected areas will be both the west and eastbound parts of Shaw Boulevard. An alternative route for motorists heading west along Shaw Boulevard is to make a right turn to F. Blumentritt Street. After arriving at Bluementritt Street, turn left to F. Manalo Street, then right to Old Sta. Mesa. From there, turn left to Araneta Avenue and right to Aurora Boulevard.

Another alternative route is to take the right turn to F. Blumentritt Street, then left to F. Manalo Street. Then, head left to Old Santa Mesa, right to V. Mapa, and exit left to Aurora Boulevard.

Meanwhile, those who are heading east from Shaw can take the Magsaysay Boulevard right to Valenzuela Street, then take a right to Cordillera, turn left to Lubiran to Boni Avenue until they reach the Maysilo roundabout and pass through FB Martinez Street, and turn right to Shaw Boulevard.

Another way to get eastbound is through Magsaysay Boulevard right to V. Mapa, then turn right to Old Sta. Mesa, head left to Reposo Street, another left towards Valenzuela then to V. Mapa, right to Bagumbayan Street, left to Lubiran and Kalentong, then right towards Shaw Boulevard.

If coming from New Panaderos Extension, turn right to Shaw Boulevard.
