One of the best things our country has been known for is its pristine beaches. Tourists and locals from far and wide flock to our powdery-white beaches and magnificent shores to spend their vacation. But if the beaches are full or your budget won’t let you travel too far or spend too much on island resorts, then perhaps you can get your much-wanted water adventure elsewhere.

Read on and see the best water parks near Metro Manila for your much-awaited summer vacation! Ditch the beach and visit these water parks instead! You can still swim and slide and splash around without getting sand everywhere or suffering from sunburns.


1. Inflatable Island

Where: Samba Bluewater Resort, Olongapo, Zambales

All of your childhood unicorn dreams will come true at Inflatable Island.

Another inflatable water park that will make you forget about standard, boring water slides is Inflatable Island. It’s the biggest one in the country, spanning over 4,100 square meters and consisting of 15 massive inflatable obstacle courses that big groups and families can play and bounce around in. They opened last April 2017, and they have already added another attraction this year called the “Unicorn Island.” Unicorn Island has its colorful obstacle course that includes a mini human launcher, a climbing wall, and a giant inflatable unicorn in the middle.

After conquering the water park, you can also relax at their famous Pink Bali Lounge and take lots of Instagram-worthy pictures with the gorgeous park as your ideal background.

If Subic, Zambales, and Cavite are still quite far from you, Klir Waterpark Resort in Bulacan is a resort near Metro Manila; you won’t have any excuse not to visit it. For those itching for a water adventure or beach getaway but still want to enjoy the amenities of a water park, Aquaria Water Park, fortunately, has both. You can enjoy the beauty of Calatagan’s beach in the morning and enjoy thrilling activities like boat riding, jet ski riding, and kayaking the rest of the day. Once you’re done, you can relax at Aquaria’s facilities inside Playa Calatagan Residences and spend your afternoon just lounging around in one of their seven interconnecting pools.

One of the highlights at Aquaria is their three-story high slide. Although you need to carry a flotation device for protection before you can ride the slide, the thrill of gliding down makes an effort worthwhile.

If you’re planning a summer outing with your kids, Amana Waterpark would be the perfect place for your getaway. The waterpark became famous for its larger-than-life characters placed around their grounds. Prepare to see giant dinosaurs and characters from the show Dragon Ball and even superheroes from Justice League.

Aside from these characters, Amana’s pools are also excellent. Their wave pool measures 3,500 square meters and is one of the biggest of its kind in the country. It also produces 13 different waves so that you can put your surfing skills to the test. Aside from water sports, they also have other activities, including zipline riding, horseback riding. They also have their picnic grove if you want to lay back and enjoy a peaceful snack with friends and family.

Fontana Hot Spring Leisure Parks and Casino is perfect for those who want a quick retreat from the city. It has a wave pool, a lazy river, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool for kids and kids at heart to splash and swim around in. Fontana has a casino and golf course where you can play a baccarat game or a round of golf for adults.

Other unique features of Fontana include their lagoon pool leading to a swimming pool and jacuzzi, and the Big Horn, where swimmers ride a giant slide tossed left and right in a massive bowl before landing into the water.

January 2022 Update: The water theme park is still closed; only the Olympic-sized pool is accessible.



6. Aqua Planet

Where: Along J.P. Rizal, J.P. Laurel, and Prince Balagtas Avenues, Clark Freeport, Pampanga

Aqua Planet opened in February 2018, but it has already gained significant buzz for its enormous size facilities. The huge 10-hectare waterpark can accommodate up to 3,500 guests and has 38 water facilities that you can enjoy for one whole day. Flotation devices and life jackets are also free to use, so you don’t need to bring your own.

Aqua Planet’s slides are wild and outrageous. But if you’re not into doing crazy stunts in their slides, you can swim around in one of their vast pools. One of their must-try attractions is the Aqua Loop, a 100-meter free-fall slide that loops in a full circle, making you slide down in a standing position.

7. Club Balai Isabel’s Aqua Park

If you’re from the south of Metro Manila, there’s a nearby water park that you can also visit: Club Balai Isabel’s Aqua Park. This fantastic water park is located in Taal Lake, so you can marvel at the gorgeous view of Taal Volcano while having a good time in their inflatable obstacle course.

In Aqua Park, you can jump through trampolines, use the human launcher with your friend, or slide down their gigantic slide, which is believed to be the biggest inflatable slide in the country.

Island Cove has been in the hospitality industry for 20 years but will keep things fresh for its guests. One of their recent upgrades that you can finally enjoy at Island Cove is the Oceania Swim and Splash Park.

Island Cove’s water park has a 3,000-square meter lagoon pool, giant spiraling slides with different lengths and heights, and a whimsical kiddie pool filled with lively colors and unique characters for the youngsters to enjoy. If you’re staying for more than a day, Island Cove also has other facilities, including a playground, basketball court, and tennis court that you can take advantage of during your stay.

January 2022 Update: Oceania Swim and Splash Park has been permanently closed due to the pandemic.
