It’s been a recurring joke among Filipinos that once the “-ber” months are here, it already means Christmas is here, too. While some find it funny, many others also take this seriously, and already start their holiday plans as early as September.

One popular activity to do during the holidays is giving gifts to coworkers, friends, and family. And one cool item to give away this Christmas is cookies! Although they are fun to make, you don’t need to labor in your kitchen for hours if you don’t have the time.

Read on and check these local bakeries and home bakers who create delectable cookies that are perfect giveaways this coming holiday season.

Colette dela Cruz and Likha Babay are home bakers from Laguna who are the minds behind Hiraya Bakery. They create sweets that range from cookies to cakes by showcasing local ingredients that we know and love. Their menu is also ever changing as they create products depending on the raw materials that are in season.

If you’re curious as to what to get from Hiraya Bakery, one item to try is their alfajores (traditional South American confection). These sweets may look like macaroons but they are actually soft cookies with a delicious sweet filling in the middle. At Hiraya, you can either opt for Chocolate Tablea (PhP200) or Salted Dulce De Leche (PhP200) or both!

In case you’re planning on throwing a party this upcoming holidays, just tell them your desired theme and they’ll create the sweet treats fit for your event.

Another baker who’s notorious in creating not-so-simple cookies is The Bald Baker. Cy Ynares, the man behind The Bald Baker, has both culinary and advertising background. That’s probably why it’s no surprise that his creations are just too pretty to eat. But aside from being Instagram-worthy, his collections of cookies are also a notch level higher than your usual treat. He uses ingredients not usually found in your typical cookie.
