The cold won’t bother you again at these splendid dining spots.

Filipinos often cope through food, and they tend to eat comfort food that suits the weather. For instance, during summer, cold treats such as halo-halo (shaved ice with various mixed ingredients) are the go-to, while for the rainy season, the popular choices are soups, broths, and hot pots.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that cold weather comfort food should be something you slurp; sometimes, something warm someplace nice is enough to make you cozy. And there are new restaurants in Metro Manila this July 2019 where you can get just this. As the rainy season settles in, know where to eat when you need to heat up with meal or two. Try these new restaurants in Metro Manila this July 2019!

1. Lampara

Where: 5883 Enriquez Street Poblacion, Makati City
Operating hours: Monday to Saturday, 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM

Makati might be one of the busiest cities in the country, but Lampara in Poblacion provides a breather in the fast-paced scene. Filled with classy wooden furniture, this retro space is a cozy hangout spot for those on the hunt for something new. With their elevated take on Filipino cuisine, Lampara is not your ordinary restaurant.

Some of the menu items to try are the ensalada (PhP180), a salad with frisee lettuce, salted egg, and eggplant, and the dinuckdukan (PhP360), which consists of diced duck with mayo and egg floss. To heat things up after your meal, grab a drink or two at the restaurant’s bar. Some of the signature cocktails to try are Gasera ni Simoun (rum with grapefruit and rosemary) and Gayuma ni Albano (tequila with guyabano and campari), for PhP380 and PhP350, respectively.

How to get there: Ride the MRT to Ayala Station. Exit the station and ride a bus with the “Ayala-Washington” signage.
