Clark provides easier testing with its new “Swab and Go” facility

Clark Development Corporation (CDC), in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Pampanga and Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH), launched the new “Swab and Go” Testing Facility in Clark Freeport last March 23, 2021. As one of the newest swab test centers in Clark, the testing facility aims to provide a more convenient way for locators and employees to have their RT-PCR tests taken.

The facility site is located at the parking lot in front of the CDC - Health and Sanitation Division. Its main booth was donated by the Department of Public Works and Highways and WiFi will be provided in the mentioned area by PLDT-Clark.

The facility will be operated by the medical professionals of JBLMGH Molecular Pathology Laboratory. The lab is one of the three laboratories in the Philippines that pioneered the conduct of pooled RT-PCR testing in the country. The testing process in the facility has four steps: registration, verification, payment, and swabbing.

For qualified individuals, the swab test price will be PhP900 per person, and a pooled RT-PCR testing approach with a minimum of five people in a group will be conducted. Those who are qualified to take the RT-PCR test, including Clark workers, are determined based on categories and the Department of Health reference list.

On the other hand, those who are not qualified will be charged with the regular swab test cost of PhP3,800 with an applicable 20% discount for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and government employees. The testing facility will be open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Samples will be collected through nasal and oral swabbing. Specimens collected from individuals will then undergo RT-PCR in the facility and be transported to the JBLMGH laboratory for further testing and confirmation to determine the swab test results. Following this, the result of swab test will then be emailed to the individual.

CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Manuel Gaerlan expressed how important it is to have health services, particularly a testing facility, in Clark Freeport. The new facility is a vital solution for the increasing demands for testing and it also responds to sustain economic activity in the Freeport.
