One of the best things about living in the province is that small-scale entrepreneurs thrive and locals have greater liberty in negotiating the price of products. In contrast to the malling culture in Metro Manila, in Batangas shopping spots haggling is the more prominent and preferable means.

Check out these Batangas shopping spots where locals often practice both their bargaining and budgeting skills!

The quaint historic town of Taal in Batangas is also dubbed as a heritage village, a well-known site where ancestral homes persist. These sites serve as windows to the rich history of the town and a showcase of ancient Philippine architecture. Now, most of the heritage structures have been transformed into museums, galleries, and shops where locals shop for rustic home furnishings and antique decor.

One such shop is Taaleña's Antique Shop on Calle Marcela Mariño Agoncillo, which sells solid wood furniture with intricately carved designs. Another is Nilo's Antique Shop on Calle Gliceria Marella, where you can find not only antique items but also creatively crafted industrial decor pieces.

J&C Lucky 99 Store is a practical one-stop shopping destination in Lipa City, Batangas.

Although the name rings similar to Lucky China Town and 999Mall in Divisoria, J&C Lucky 99 Store is actually a distinct outlet store that started out even way before the two Divisoria stores did. With two branches in Lipa City and several others around Batangas, the store is spacious and features different sections, almost looking like the department stores in big shopping malls, except that the majority of the products here do not exceed PhP99.

You can explore their section on men’s and women's fashion, a kids' section, bags and shoes, home items, and a whole lot more. Smaller items are cheaper and bigger items a bit more expensive but always, everything is cheaper than what they would usually go for anywhere else. For instance, you can buy tableware for PhP29.99 and pants for PhP199, which is already a steal.
