Cuyo’s Latest Travel Guidelines and Requirements You Should Know

The municipality inter-agency task force (IATF) of Cuyo released a new travel guideline and requirement last April 29. Due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in the country, the local IATF sets new safety protocols covering all inbound and outbound travels to Cuyo.

Under Travel Advisory No. 1, travels to Cuyo will be limited only to essential travels, authorized persons outside residence (APOR), emergency cases, and returning overseas Filipinos (ROF). Cuyo’s latest travel guideline and requirement requires travelers to secure travel requirements for both inbound and outbound travels.

For inbound travels, the requirements and steps are the following:

• Endorsement letter from the receiving barangay. Travelers must coordinate with a representative to secure the letter.

• The representative must also present the endorsement letter to the mayor’s office and other supporting documents (medical certificates and travel order). These additional documents will secure an acceptance letter and payment for the antigen test conducted at the Municipal Treasurer’s Office.

• Travelers must present the acceptance letter, supporting documents, and negative antigen test results at the ticketing office. The negative antigen test results should be valid not more than 24 hours since the collection of specimens. If the traveler is from the national capital region (NCR), the negative RT-PCR result should be valid not more than 72 hours since the collection of specimens.

• Upon arrival, travelers are subject to quarantine. They should undergo antigen testing again on the 6th and 7th days. Travelers will shoulder their food and other expenses.

• Once the traveler is found to be positive or showing symptoms, he or she will transfer to an isolation facility where a confirmatory RT-PCR test will conduct.

As for outbound travels, travelers must coordinate with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) through their hotline number 09467456403. Travelers must also secure requirements (letter of acceptance, antigen test, and medical clearance) before their travel if their destination requires them.

Along with these travel guidelines, minimum health standards are strictly reinforced, particularly in high traffic areas like groceries, banks, marketplace, and government offices. Travelers and locals must also practice social distancing at all times in all the high traffic areas.

All vendors and customers must put on face masks and face shields always while on the premises. High-touch surfaces should also disinfect at least three times a day. Facilities will also be operating at 50% capacity.
