Updated Travel Requirements and Health Protocols in Batangas
As of March 2, 2021, the local Inter-Agency Task Force of San Juan, Batangas issued Resolution no. 101. Below are the updated guidelines and travel requirements that tourists must comply with for a fun and safe trip to the tourist spots in Batangas.
1. Tourists must have a confirmed resort booking. The reservation must be with an accommodation establishment or Laiya beach resort that has secured a Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO) and Certificate of Compliance. DOT-accredited establishments are allowed to operate even without a CAO.
2. Note that some accommodation establishments may have additional requirements and protocols, so it’s best to get in touch with the resort you wish to book with and ask about their policies first.
3. On the day of travel, tourists must visit the Municipal Tourism Office located along Laiya Road after La Vista Subdivision in Barangay Buhay na Sapa. This is where guests will present their confirmed resort booking, pay the ecological fee, and get a referral slip.
4. Medical certificates are no longer required from visitors by the Tourism Reception Area, provided that:
• All tourists (including walk-ins) must pay an ecological fee of PhP20 and claim their referral slip at the Tourism Reception Area;
• Tourists will present the referral slip, a photocopy of a valid ID, and an accomplished health declaration form to the resort you booked upon check-in;
• Resorts will provide a log book upon entrance of guests containing the following details: name of guest, temperature, time-in, and signature (if guests are staying for more than one night, a health check must be done again);
• Resorts will collect the referral slip, photocopy of a valid ID of guests, and a filled-out health declaration form;
• Strict health and safety protocols are implemented in all accredited accommodation establishments.
The Municipal Tourism Office will collect the referral slips, photocopies of IDs, and health declaration forms monthly. Health declaration forms will be used by every tourist until an official contact tracing form is released by the health office.
These amended guidelines and requirements are applicable to all guests and accommodation establishments. Since Batangas is still under general community quarantine or GCQ, water sports activities will still be prohibited. Pregnant women, people with underlying medical conditions will not be allowed entry and age restrictions will still be applied.
