The ResBakuna vaccination program has begun in the Ilocos region.

Last month, COVID-19 vaccine doses made their way to the Ilocos region, setting off the vaccination program in Ilocos. First to receive vaccine jabs were members of the medical frontliner group from various hospitals around the region. While the inoculation for health workers is ongoing, other cities like Dagupan are also encouraging elderly residents to consult their respective barangay contact persons and register for the program. The authorities provided a list of contact people in barangays all over the province for those who wish to participate in the program. COVID-19 Vaccination Program in La Union and Ilocos Sur
Around 30,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines arrived in San Fernando, La Union last April 13, 2021. This was welcomed by the Department of Health - Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD1). DOH-CHD1 Medical Officer IV Dr. Rheuel Bobis said that the vaccines are part of the government-purchased Sinovac vaccines and is also a portion of the 1.5 million doses to be delivered this April. The first batch of doses that arrived are alloted for the Priority A1 and A2 categories, or the healthcare workers and senior citizens respectively.
Ilocos Sur’s vaccination program began last March 5, 2021 and as of April 17, 2021, 85 percent of health workers in hospitals have already received their shots. A total of 7,558 medical frontliners from all government and private hospitals and health facilities in Ilocos Sur received their first doses of vaccines. Of the total, 2,507 were injected with AstraZeneca and 5,051 were vaccinated with Sinovac. Out of the 5,051 people vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine, 1,311 already received their second dose.
Vaccination Program in Pangasinan
Meanwhile, the Pangasinan Provincial Health Office (PHO) has already vaccinated 21,981 residents as of April 15. In terms of the types of vaccines administered, PHO Chief Dr. Anna Ma. Teresa de Guzman said that around 18,000 people were inoculated with Sinovac and 4,000 citizens were vaccinated with AstraZeneca. Health workers in public and private hospitals including infirmary and other public health services are now receiving their second doses.
The Public Information Office of Dagupan City is calling on senior citizens to register for the vaccination program. The local government posted a complete list of contact people in their respective barangays so the elders know who to contact for registration.
