The local government of Zambales is easing their travel restrictions for fully vaxxed tourists despite the rise of COVID-19 cases in the area. Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. announced in an advisory last January 21 that they scrapped the testing requirements as health protocols for fully vaxxed tourists. He adds that fully vaxxed non-residents and residents will only be required to present vaccination cards upon entry at Zambales.
Exemptions from these updated health protocols include symptomatic tourists—even those who are fully vaxxed—wherein they will be required to undergo antigen tests at the border. Meanwhile, unvaccinated tourists and residents will not be allowed to enter the province unless they are willing to be vaccinated at the boundaries as part of the travel restrictions. Authorized persons outside residence and returnees in Zambales will be administered with Janssen vaccines. Medical professionals and teams will be administering vaccines at the Subic and Sta. Cruz borders as part of the health protocols and travel restrictions.
