Notwithstanding the usually dire traffic condition in major cities in the Philippines, the influx of new vehicles in the country remains steady. In fact, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. said sales for the month of April rose by 30.3 percent as compared to last year’s.1 This increase in sales of cars as well as the establishment of new branches and showrooms of car companies in the country is a trend that will continue because of lower gas prices and relatively cheaper costs of owning an automobile today.

Planning to buy a new car? Below are some of this year’s new car establishments that may be near you and deserve your attention. These ones are accessible and well-known throughout the country.


Quezon City: Suzuki & Foton

Suzuki formally opens its new dealership with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Quezon Avenue.

Japanese carmaker Suzuki recently launched its second satellite shop at Quezon Avenue last February in an effort to raise sales.This is a back-to-back dealership, with the other one located at Commonwealth, that also aims to introduce the Ciaz, its first sedan.

According to Mr. Shuzo Hoshikura, Suzuki general manager for automobile, their expansion can really help them achieve their targets for the year 2016. “I am confident that these three newly inaugurated outlets will perform excellently and help us achieve greater sales figures this year,” Hoshikura said in a press release from Suzuki.

Meanwhile, the 19th Foton dealership promises more private and commercial vehicles in the wake of the Philippines’ booming automotive industry.

Foton just opened a store in Marilao, Bulacan, this June. It also has a new showroom in Quezon Avenue, which is operated by Manindra Auto Corporation, a company that also handles other automotive brands. This is the nineteenth showroom of the Chinese automobile-maker that aims to amplify the brand’s presence and worth in the country.

Foton is opening new shops to further expand its automotive reach in the Philippines.

United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) President Rommel Sytin said they are confident of the continued growth of Foton and the brand on Philippine shores after partnering with Manindra Auto Corporation. UAAGI is the official distributor of Foton vehicles in the country, which include United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. a mix of commercial vehicles like trucks and equipment and private vehicles.

Makati City: Mazda

A 2,233 square-meter car showroom and service center opened last January 18, 2016 at Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Makati City. It is a 12-car showroom that displays the latest Mazda technologies and services for the patrons of the brand.

The multilevel showroom of Mazda Makati at Chino Roces Avenue Extension promises the complete package deal for Mazda car owners.

Mazda Makati partnered with Berjaya Auto Philippines and Auto Zoom, Inc. in making the showroom possible. According to Max Borromeo, president of Auto Zoom, Inc., Mazda Makati offers the full package in terms of presentation and service. It has 16 service bays for engine repairs and preventive maintenance services (PMS) for repainting and bodywork.

The showroom is open from Monday to Saturday, 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Service facilities are available Monday to Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.


Pampanga - Subaru

The new Subaru Pampanga showroom has a five-vehicle display and repair station; it opened last June 2016 along McArthur Highway, Dolores, San Fernando City, Pampanga.

Motor Image Pilipinas recently brought the popular Japanese carmaker Subaru closer to the Pampangueños last June 10, 2016. This new dealership with franchisee ANC Group of Companies is a 1,108 square-meter facility that features five vehicles and a lounge where customers can view state-of-the-art equipment loaded onto Subaru vehicles.

The Subaru WRX is a powerful sports sedan proudly distributed by Motor Image Pilipinas.

The new showroom is open all week long from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The ANC Group of Companies is known for the BRZ and WRX, two tuners that are rearing to be unleashed along with the rest of Subaru’s intensive lineup of vehicles. Its immediate proximity to nearby provinces in Central and Northern Luzon means more access to vehicles in the greater North.


Taguig - Concept One Wheels

Bonifacio Global City’s Karport Compound recently added the popular aftermarket store Concept One Wheels to its list of automotive outlets. If you need a new set of tires, rims, or wheels for your car, you can now go to the Karport Plaza to give your car a “tire-lift”.

Toyota strikes new ground. A new Toyota dealership will soon rise in Marikina City, which aims to sell 200,000 units come 2020.

TMP is branching out to more locations, specifically Marikina City, as part of its massive expansion program.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will be opening a new dealership, one of five that are under the joint venture of GT Capital Holdings and Mitsui & Co. Ltd. This will have a four-storey building located along Sumulong Highway, Marikina with a 700-square-meter showroom, office space, and other automobile facilities, spanning 11,000 square meters total floor area. The construction of Toyota Marikina is in line with the goal of TMP to sell out 150,000 to 200,000 vehicles in the country by 2020. The company believes this goal is achievable given four years.


Automotive Repair

Local car repair company Motech is partnering with Appeal, Unique, Tire, Oil, Battery, Accessory, Car audio, Service (Autobacs) of Japan in opening 100 stores on Philippine shores as part of their expansion program in the archipelago. Motech also aims to open five hundred shops in the ASEAN region, with 37 franchises already operating in the country. Automotive repair will be seeing these two giants expand their business as a team.

Autobacs is a leading car shop that provides repair and maintenance services, among many others.

Motech is a renowned automotive service center, while Autobacs sells parts and services. Motech only used to have just six shops when it started, but now it has 37 stores. Autobacs has 611 stores in Japan and 30 others in other countries.

If you ever want to join Motech in this profitable business, you must invest seven million pesos for facilities and equipment. With more vehicles appearing on the road, this is an opportunity that car enthusiasts should not miss.


These newly opened and upcoming auto shops and car service facilities can only make the automotive industry more exciting.
