Inoculation of booster shot vaccines is made available in malls and other public sites in Bacolod City. After a typhoon hits Bacolod the previous week, Bacolod City has resumed the vaccination drives in the said places last December 22. Malls that host vaccination rollout from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM are Ayala Malls, CityMall Goldenfields, CityMall Mandalagan, SM City Bacolod, and Gaisano City and Robinsons Place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There are also available vaccination sites in fast-food restaurants like McDonald’s Lacson from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM and at Jollibee East from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Additional vaccination sites can also be found in Bacolod City Health Office, Barangay Bata, Negros Occidental High School, Barangay Alangilan, Barangay Villamonte, Singcang-Airport, Ceres North Bus Terminal and Barangay Alijis.

As long as fully vaccinated with the initial two-dose vaccine, individuals should bring their ID and vaccination card. Sites in Bacolod City that give booster shots are catering walk-ins, saving residents the hassle.

The Department of Health (DOH) recently issued a revised interval schedule in booster vaccination. Fully vaxxed adults in Bacolod City can now avail booster shots for three months from the original six months. Individuals ages 18 and up are now eligible to have a single dose booster shot or booster vaccine after three months of getting vaxxed with the second dose, while those vaccinated with Janssen or the J and J brand can get the booster shot after two months.

Those inoculated with the vaccination brands AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Sinovac, or Sputnik can get their booster shot dose at least three months after the second dose vaccination. [1]

Dr. Edwin Miraflor, Jr., officer-in-charge of the Bacolod City Health Office, also furthered the dissemination of the latest announcement by the DOH. He also said that the new guideline, which is also administered through the amended Emergency Use Authorization or EUA for COVID-19 booster vaccines, has finally taken effect last Wednesday, December 22. As for the vaccine brands, Pfizer is allowed to use for minors and Moderna for senior citizens, overseas Filipino workers or OFWs, and pregnant women. AstraZeneca and Sinovac can be used for the rest of the eligible vaccinees and those who will receive the booster vaccine. The Gamaleya Sputnik vaccine is allowed to use for all except pregnant women, lactating mothers, and minors. [3]
