One of the best places to explore in a day is the province of Ilocos. Besides the province being home to multiple heritage sites where you can go on a journey to the past, there are also plenty of picture-perfect tourist spots in Ilocos, with each destination offering a unique travel experience.

1. Kabigan Falls

Location: Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

Kabigan Falls in Pagudpud is one of the most visited destinations in Ilocos Norte, not only because of its 87-feet cascading waterfall, but also because of the refreshing mountain trail that must be taken to reach it. The waters are cool and clear, making it a perfect swimming place after a long trek. Every corner of the place is picture-perfect, so don’t forget to pack your camera and capture Pagudpud’s lush foliage! Note that there is an entrance fee of PhP20 per pax and a local guide charge of Php100 (5 pax) for visitors.



2. Saud Beach

One of the many gems of Ilocos Norte is Saud Beach. Dubbed as the “Boracay of the North,” Saud Beach boasts stunning turquoise waters and warm powdery sand. What’s great about the beach is that it isn’t always crowded, making it a suitable spot for unwinding. You can choose to set up a tent or rent a cottage for your day trip, or rent a tricycle that can take you on a mini tour around the nearest attractions from the beach.


3. Crisologo Museum

Travel back to the past this 2021 by visiting Crisologo Museum! The museum was originally a household owned by former congressman Floro S. Crisologo. After he died a tragic death, his wife Carmeling Crisologo made sure that he will always live in the minds and hearts of Filipinos by converting their own home into a museum. Here, you’ll find antique furniture, uniforms, and other items owned by Floro Crisologo himself. The second floor houses the bedrooms and other private items of the family.


4. OveMar Resort

Location: Paratong, Sta. Catalina, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur

Ilocos Sur is known for being the home of numerous heritage sites, and one of them is the Vigan Cathedral. Also known as St. Paul’s Cathedral, the place is a popular religious landmark for it has been a center of Roman Catholic devotion for years. Its baroque architecture is fused with neo-Gothic, pseudo-Romanesque, and Chinese craftsmanship. Inside, you’ll find 12 minor altars and a silver-paneled main altar that you’ll surely find beautiful and picturesque.
