This week will be mostly cloudy, and with some rain and thunderstorms on June 5 to 7, in particular.

The month of June signals the start of the habagat season or the southwest monsoon which brings strong winds at the White Beach in Boracay. Waters around the island become rough during this season, hence it is advisable to ask guides the best hours to do certain water activities.


TRADE FAIRS AND EVENTS

Station 2, Balabag will be quite busy for the Sea and Earth Camp.

Starting June 6, the seven-day Young Southeast Asian Youth Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Sea and Earth Camp will happen at Patio Pacific Resort in Station 2, Balabag.. The activity will gather 25 young leaders from all over the country. The participants are expected to come up with environmental projects for marine conservation.


TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Ariel’s Point, a day-trip destination for Boracay visitors, now offers stand-up paddleboards (SUP) for its guests. It is a popular cliff jumping site in Buruanga town, about 30 minutes away from Boracay by boat. Aside from SUP, Ariel’s Point offers other water sports activities such as kayaking and snorkeling.

The Chori (Chorizo) is a must-try especially for first-time visitors. Various food stands along the beachfront which operate from around 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM offer this food but the most famous Chori Burger in the island is from Merly’s BBQ Boracay. This food stall which is located in front of Casa Fiesta in Station 1 is regarded as the first to offer Chori Burger in Boracay.

Meanwhile, color-coordinated trash bins can now be found along the White Beach. The trash bins are donated to the Local Government of Malay, Aklan for the Cause for a New Coast campaign during LaBoracay (or Labor Day weekend event in Boracay) last May 1.

Meanwhile, a mandatory manifesto listing is now being implemented for everyone going to and from Boracay. Boat passengers now have to fill a passenger’s data sheet given upon buying a ticket. The data sheet is collected upon boarding. Wearing of lifejackets on the boat is also mandatory when going to and from Boracay.
