In recent years, Cebu has played host to numerous restaurants based in other provinces. This has made the Queen City of the South not only a melting pot of cultures but of cuisines as well.

Each year, new restaurants open their doors to the Cebuano market. At least four new restaurants in Cebu this 2019 will be open to give Cebuanos something to look forward to each time they decide to eat out.

If you are looking where to eat in Cebu, the following restaurants in Cebu are aiming to carve their own niche in the Queen City of the South.


1. Baskin-Robbins

Where: SM Seaside Cebu

Three years after a tarp announced its coming, Baskin-Robbins will finally open its doors to Cebuanos. The biggest chain of ice cream specialty shops will finally give Cebu a taste of its 1,000 ice cream flavors. The store started when Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins started making their own ice cream in 1945. Using different ingredients, they originally had 31 flavors for each day of the month. This list has grown to over a thousand flavors that customers have been enjoying around the world. With their whimsical names, the ice cream of Baskin-Robbins will likely tickle the taste buds of both residents of and visitors to Cebu.


2. Chikaan Restaurant at Snow World Cebu

Where: Calajo-An, Minglanilla Cebu
When: First Quarter of 2019

The Chikaan Restaurant, Cebu’s homegrown native restaurant, is one of the places you can have a bite to eat at Snow World Cebu.

Chikaan Restaurant is a homegrown restaurant that has been offering mouth-watering Cebu delicacies for decades. Its specialties include crispy pata (deep-fried pork leg), baked scallops, and buttered garlic shrimp. In addition, they are also known for their utan Bisaya (Visayan vegetable soup) and their ginisang monggo soup (sautéed mung bean stew). The restaurant already has a number of branches in and around the Queen City of the South. And they are bringing their delectable dishes to one of the newest entertainment destinations in Cebu: Snow World Cebu. After having your fill of fun in the snow, you can look forward to filling your stomach to the brim at the Chikaan Restaurant at Snow World Cebu.

3. Bugsay Seafood Restaurant

Where: Minore Center and Hotel
When: Opening in the 3rd Quarter of 2019

Bugsay Seafood Restaurant is a popular seafood restaurant considered as among the best in Asia by History Channel’s Jaime Dempsey. This Surigao-based restaurant is set to open in Cebu in the third quarter of 2019. The place is best known for its Surigao crabs in their signature sauce and the Sinuglaw (grilled pork belly and fish ceviche soaked in native Mindanao lemon). In addition, the restaurant also offers a number of delectable seafood dishes. Bugsay Seafood Restaurant will be located at the soon-to-open Minore Center and Hotel, close to the IC3 Convention Center and Landers Superstore.


4. Sea Breeze Café

Where: Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort
When: 2019

The Dusit Thani Mactan Resort will host Sea Breeze Café and its delectable dishes in their international buffet.

Cebu will see another addition to its resort hotel landscape once the Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort opens its doors in Mactan Island. Built on the property owned by Robinsons Land Corp, the hotel will be managed by Dusit Hotels & Resorts of Thailand. Aside from its exclusive beach, well-appointed rooms, and five-star amenities, the resort hotel will also feature three restaurants offering scrumptious dishes to its guests. One of these restaurants is Sea Breeze Café. The café takes its name from its location in the tourist island of Mactan. It is expected to offer a wide array of international dishes for guests on its buffet table.
