After the successful completion of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), connecting Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu through Cordova, Lapu-Lapu City is now advancing plans to construct the Lapu-Lapu Expressway (LLEX).
This expressway significantly reduces travel time to
Mactan-Cebu International Airport from 35 minutes to 12 minutes, making it more accessible and less stressful for travelers. It aims to address the road congestion going to and from the airport, especially during peak hours.
The 12-kilometer, four-lane Lapu Lapu Expressway will start in Barangay Babag 2 and traverse several vital locations in Lapu-Lapu City, including the Mactan Economic Zone, Mactan Aviation Road, and the Pajac, Buaya, Bankal, and Ibo barangays. The bridge will then exit Pusok, strategically connecting major economic and residential areas to the airport.
The construction of the Lapu-Lapu Expressway is expected to provide a faster route to the airport. It is crucial for both locals and tourists who are running late for their flights at Mactan Cebu International Airport. This initiative reflects the city's commitment to enhancing infrastructure and boosting the local economy by facilitating smoother travel and logistics.
