If you’re a fan of author Dan Brown, this movie is for you. Inferno is a mystery thriller film showing this weekend that is based on Brown’s novel of the same title. Tom Hanks plays the role of Robert Langdon, a professor of symbology who one day awakens with no memory of the things that took place in the past few days. Dr. Sienna Brooks, played by Felicity Jones, will help him escape and bring back his freedom and lost memories. Inferno is the sequel to The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons films, which are also based on the novels by Brown.

If you are in the mood for ballet and classical music, you may want to check out The Swan, The Fairy, and The Princess showing at Aliw Theater on October 14 and 15 at 8:00 PM, and October 16 at 3:00 PM. The stage production by Ballet Manila is part of their 21st performance season dubbed as “Revenge of the Classics.” The Swan, The Fairy, and The Princess showcases excerpts from some of the most popular ballet scores of notable composer Peter Tschaikovsky. It features guest artists such as Mikhail Martynyuk, principal dancer of Kremlin Ballet, as well as veteran theater and TV actor Miguel Faustmann who will take on the role of Peter Tchaikovsky. Ticket prices range from PhP515 to PhP1,545.

Artist Playground, an arts and performance company, offers a glimpse of history in their play entitled Lagablab. Written by Dan Hollanda and directed by Paul Jake Paule, Lagablab tackles the struggles of a Filipino family during the Japanese occupation. The play runs at 7:00 PM every Friday, and 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM every Saturday and Sunday until October 30. You can watch it at The Little Room Upstairs in Quezon City.

If you miss Sharon Cuneta performing on stage, there’s good news for you. On October 15 and 22 at 8:00 PM, you can watch her perform at The Theatre in Solaire Resort & Casino. The concert is directed by Paolo Valenciano and under the musical direction of Louie Ocampo. Ticket prices range from PhP2,190 to PhP7,655.

Animax Carnival Philippines 2016 will be held on October 15 to 16 at Halls 1 and 2 of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. You can get a glimpse of Japanese culture and language at the Unmei Expo 2016: Career and Study Fair for Japanese Language Enthusiasts. Presented by the Unmei Nihongo Center, the expo is open to all Japanese companies, Japanese language speakers and translators, and Japanese culture enthusiasts in the Philippines. The event aims to establish a network of talents and connections in preparation for the anticipated rise in the demand for jobs and services that require the Japanese language. Unmei Expo 2016 will be held on October 16 at the SMX Convention Center. The general admission ticket is at PhP125.
