It’s the weekend once again! Everybody just can’t wait for Friday as it’s the time to relax and take a break from school or work. While some people prefer to stay at home over the weekend, many choose to have fun with loved ones. They watch movies, concerts, and musicals, or head to a club and unwind.

In this list, we’ve rounded up some events that you can look forward to this weekend in Metro Manila.

If you love watching movies about angels, reincarnation, and religion, you may want to check out Fallen. Directed by Scott Hicks, it is a film adaptation of the first novel in the series written by Lauren Kate. In this movie, Lucinda “Luce” Price, played by Addison Timlin, meets a boy named Daniel who she feels connected to. As she begins to delve into her past and his identity, she discovers Daniel’s darkest secret and the mystery of true love that never dies. Cast also includes Jeremy Irvine, Lola Kirke, Joely Richardson, and Malachi Kirby.

You can have a deeper understanding and appreciation of your parents and what they go through when you watch Fun Home. Starring Tony award winner Lea Salonga and Broadway actor Eric Kunze, this musical delves into the story of Alison and her father, whose secrets and desires make an impact on her life and her family. With five Tony Awards, Fun Home is the most acclaimed and awarded musical of 2015. It will be shown at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in Makati City from November 10 to 27, at 8:00 PM on weekdays, and at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on weekends. Ticket prices range from PhP1,567.50 to PhP4,180.00.

Alex Band fans unite! American rock band The Calling is set to perform on November 11 at SM Mall of Asia . You can watch lead vocalist Alex Band, lead guitarist Sean Kipe, bassist Jake Fehres, and drummer Art Pacheco as they relive some of their hits. The Calling is best known for the songs Wherever You Will Go, Adrienne, Could It Be Any Harder, Stigmatized, Our Lives, Things Will Go My Way, and For You. The band was formed in 1999, released two albums, and then went on hiatus in 2005. Ticket prices range from PhP958 to PhP6,900.

Famous Filipino singers Kyla, Angeline Quinto, KZ Tandingan, and Yeng Constantino are set to perform at DIVAS Live in Manila. The concert will be held on November 11, 8:00 PM, at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Each of them is known for a different genre, so you can expect to hear some rhythm and blues (R&B), pop rock, and soul music. Ticket prices range from PhP424 to PhP5,300.

If you’re up for some ‘80s music, we’ve got great news for you. The Authority Band is set to perform on November 11, 8:00 PM, at Bar 360 . The band is composed of lead vocalist Juan Miguel Salvador, bassist Alvin Soriano, keyboardist Jay Agustin, guitarists Omar Kharim Boquiren and Jun Alicante, and drummer Chuck Menor. You can listen to old hits from popular bands and artists including Billy Joel, Queen, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, and Spandau Ballet.
