X-Men fans have something to look forward to this weekend. Logan, the tenth installment of the X-Men series, and the third and final installment of the Wolverine films, is now showing starting March 1 in cinemas nationwide.

The story is set in the year 2029 where the number of mutants has significantly diminished, and the X-Men have already been disbanded. Logan, whose self-healing power is dwindling, is now working as a chauffeur. He also takes care of the ailing Professor X in a hideout on a Mexican border. A young mutant being pursued by dark forces will arrive, and will bring Logan back to action despite his weakening power.

Every dog happens for a reason. (Image: Universal Pictures)

Based on the best-selling novel by W. Bruce Cameron, A Dog’s Purpose is about a dog who finds meaning in his existence through humans who he shares his love with. The plot starts with the dog Bailey, narrating his life as man’s best friend to Ethan. Time will come for him to say goodbye to Ethan, after which he becomes reincarnated in another dog’s body and serves as a pet to other humans. He meets Ethan a second time around, but now his former owner is older. They will spend time together again, which makes Ethan realize that his “new”dog is still Bailey, the dog from his younger years.

The movie teaches that a dog’s life, although it comes to an end, can bring purpose to human lives.
