Already got your 13th month pay or expecting to get it in the coming days? There’s no better way to spend it than to go Christmas shopping! If you haven’t started buying gifts for your loved ones or started adorning your home with festive Yuletide decorations and don’t know how to begin, we’ve got good news! ShoppersGuide has listed six shopping spots in Quezon City where you can get the most out of your year’s hard work this Christmas season.

1. Dapitan Arcade

If you’re tired of seeing the usual Christmas balls and string lights in your home every Christmas, why not decorate it with handcrafted decors? At Dapitan Arcade in Sta. Mesa Heights, you can take home a Christmas tree ornament, figurine, or a hang-up tile decor in the series of stalls found in the place starting at PhP50. Different home decors, glassware, and crockery which you can use on Christmas day or get as gifts for friends are also up for grabs. If you cannot pay a visit this Yuletide season, do not fret because some stalls still sell Christmas decorative items even if it is off season.

How to Get There: From Cubao, ride a jeepney bound for Quiapo and get off at Welcome Rotonda. From there, ride another jeepney with the signage “Del Monte Dapitan Welcome Rotonda” and ask the driver to drop you off at Dapitan Arcade.

2. Unique Novelties and Toys Corporation

Deciding how many items you can carry home rather than deciding which items to buy is more likely the problem you are going to experience in Unique Novelties and Toys Corporation. Offering an array of items ranging from Christmas decors, kitchenware, toys, to hardware, this wholesale warehouse in San Francisco del Monte can help solve any Christmas-related dilemma starting at PhP10. The place also prides itself in being the supplier of major department stores in the country, thus ensuring quality in every item.

How to Get There: Take the MRT Line 3 and get off at North Avenue Station. From there, ride a jeepney bound for Quiapo and get off at Baler Street. Hire a tricycle to take you to Unique Novelties and Toy Corporation.

3. Parolan Bazaar

Divisoria may not be found in Quezon City but you can still score Christmas decors with similar price offerings—sometimes cheaper—in the annual Parolan Bazaar in Cubao. Operating since 1991, this locals’ favorite opens every October to December. It has vendors which sell garlands, poinsettias, parols (lanterns), and other holiday decorations starting at PhP10. This year, the bazaar was moved from its former location beside Farmers Market to its new home near Araneta Center Bus Station.

How to Get There: Take a bus going to SM City Fairview and get off at Farmers Market. Walk along Gen. McArthur Avenue until you reach Time Square Avenue where Araneta Center Bus Station could be easily seen. Parolan Bazaar is beside this terminal.

4. Centris Station

For affordable holiday gifting needs, Centris Station near MRT Quezon Avenue Station is one option especially if you want to avoid the crowd in big malls this Yuletide season. Located in the mall’s second floor is a tiangge (bazaar) of stalls that sell trendy fashion finds starting at PhP50, so here’s where you might find gifts for your fashionista friends or for your office monito or monita. Stalls offering the latest gadgets can also be found in the area if you’re looking for gifts for your techie friends.

How to Get There: Ride MRT Line 3 and get off at Quezon Avenue Station. Exit the place using the north exit where Centris Station is only a few steps away.

5. Isetann Department Store and Supermarket

It might be as old as your aunt who’ll definitely ask about your love life in the upcoming family reunion, but Isetann in Cubao will not ask you how much money you have in your wallet. This is because you’ll find budget-friendly items in this all-time locals’ favorite. For PhP100, you can already take home gifts for your loved ones or Christmas decors for your home. The place also has its own supermarket which offers cheap grocery items to complete your noche buena feast.

How to Get There: Ride the MRT Line 3 and get off at Araneta-Cubao Station. From there, follow the exit leading to Farmers Plaza. Take the footbridge going to Gateway Mall and depart from the latter using the exit along Gen. Malvar Avenue. Walk towards the corner of Gen. Malvar and Gen. Aguinaldo Avenues where Isetann is located.

6. Circle C Shopping Center

It may not be known to most people, but Circle C Shopping Center is a locals’ gem in Project 8. Mostly offering fashion items, this neighborhood mall has become a locals’ favorite because of its affordable rates. Starting at PhP60 you can already have a new blouse for Christmas day or complete your gift checklist with the different novelty items in the retail stores. If you’re in the market for some entertainment, DVDs are also available at very cheap rates.

How to Get There: Take the MRT Line 3 and get off at North Avenue Station. From there, go to the UV Express Terminal in TriNoma and ride one which is going either to Visayas Avenue and Mindanao Avenue. Get off at Congressional Avenue and walk along it until you reach Circle C Shopping Center.

Your 13th month pay is worth a year of your hard work so make the most out of it by spending it wisely. But amidst all the planning, remember that this season is not all about gifts and decorations. Spend some quality time with your loved ones to truly make your Christmas the most wonderful time of the year.
