Concerts and theater shows are aplenty this November! It will be an eventful month with international artists such as Ed Sheeran and Rain coming to the country. Local music artists like Aicelle Santos and Matteo Guidicelli will stage their own concerts, too. If you’d rather watch a play, there are new theater shows to catch this month as well. Below are some concerts and events in Metro Manila you can consider watching this November.


Rise 2 Shine Benefit Concert


When: November 3

Rain, one of the pioneers of the Korean Wave in the Philippines, will be returning to the country for a benefit concert. Proceeds will go to the Make Your Nanay Proud foundation, Ko-Ph World Foundation, and the citizens of Marawi City.

Special guests at the concert include Sam Concepcion, Kris Lawrence, Jay R, Isabelle De Leon, Krissha Viaje, Bendeatha, Cursebox, Dasuri Choi, Val John, and Jin Ho Bae, who got famous for his covers of Tagalog songs.

How to get to there: Ride the LRT-2 and drop off at the Araneta Center-Cubao station, then walk towards Gateway Mall. Araneta Coliseum is just behind Gateway Mall


Ed Sheeran Live in Manila


When: November 7

If you still can’t get Ed Sheeran’s song “Shape of You” out of your head, you might want to catch his concert this November 7. The concert will serve as the Manila leg of his Divide tour, in promotion of his third studio album of the same name. Some of the songs from the album like “Perfect” and “How Would You Feel” are already gaining airtime on local radio stations.

Tickets are available at SM Tickets through their website and ticket outlets nationwide.

How to get there: Ride the MRT and drop off at Taft Avenue station. Go down the station and ride one of the jeepneys going to SM Mall of Asia.


Matilda The Musical


When: November 10 to December 10
Where: Meralco Theater
Price range: PhP1,500 to PhP4,000

The Tony-Award winning play Matilda will start its series of shows from November 10 to December 10 at the Meralco Theater. Matilda is based on the famous Roald Dahl book of the same name. The play has won 80 international awards.

Matilda is about a smart little girl who is also gifted with psychokinetic powers. She is unloved by her family but manages to impress her schoolteacher Miss Honey. Tickets are available at the TicketWorld Manila website and outlets.

The Filipino production of the play will star three talented young girls in the titular role, including a former contestant of The Voice Kids.

How to get to there: Ride the MRT and drop off at Ortigas station, then walk towards Robinsons Galleria. From Robinsons, take a jeep going to Rosario. Get off at Meralco Avenue and walk to Meralco Theater, just across Mcdonald’s.


Awit na Aicelle: Aicelle Santos in Concert


When: November 24
Where: Music Museum
Price range: PhP1,000 to PhP2,500

Aicelle Santos is one of the most versatile singers in the country. Besides pop songs, Aicelle is also known to extend her vocal prowess to other genres such as jazz, soul, and RnB.

Fans of Aicelle since her Pinoy Pop Superstar days can watch her perform at her concert this November 24.

The Company, Quest, Bullet Dumas, Myke Salomon, and Mr. Gary Valenciano will join her on her concert.

How to get there: Walk to Robinson's Galleria across the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) office along Ortigas Avenue. Ride a jeep to San Juan or take an RRCG/G Liner bus to Quiapo. Get off at Greenhills Shopping Center, where Music Museum is located.


KFest PH 2017


When: November 24

From K-drama shows to K-pop, Filipinos can’t seem to get enough of all things Korean. Adding to the list of Korean concerts this year is Kfest PH 2017. Besides the musical treat, super VIP (SVIP) ticket holders can enjoy a meet-and-greet with all the artists.

Kfest is an annual Korean music festival which aims to spread fun and joy to K-pop fans. The event is presented by D’Ultimate Talent and Entertainment Corp, in partnership with Supernova Girls Production and Wyzmynds events. Tickets are available at TicketNet outlets and the website.


The Glitter Trap


When: November 25
Where: Globe Auditorium
Price range: PhP200 to PhP700

For their 50th anniversary, Repertory Philippines will present a new musical entitled The Glitter Trap. The play is based from a Disney book written by Barbara Brauner and James Iver Mattson. The Glitter Trap is about a 12-year-old girl Lacey who must learn magic as she takes the place of the Fairy Godmother, who she unintentionally injures.

Joel Trinidad and Jon Meer Vera Perez composed original music for the play. Tickets are available at TicketWorld outlets and the website.

How to get there: From EDSA, ride a bus southbound to Baclaran or Ayala station, or take an MRT and go down at Ayala station. Go across EDSA via the MRT bridge. Look for the terminal of air-conditioned buses bound for Fort Bonifacio at the gate of Forbes Park across Shell Station.


NU107 NU Rock Years


When: November 25
Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum

Fans of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) can take a trip down memory lane with the NU107 NU Rock Years concert. The event will have legendary icons from the 90’s and early 2000’s like Ely Buendia, Rivermaya, Ebe Dancel, Itchyworms, and Barbie Almalbis paying tribute to the now-defunct rock music station NU107.

NU107 started in 1987 and played mainly rock music internationally and locally. The station went off the air seven years ago. In 2014, it came back as WISH 107.5.

Nuevo Mundo


When: November 25
Where: Globe Circuit Events Ground, Makati
Price range: PhP900 to PhP1,200 for regular tickets

Aside from Wanderland, one music festival you can watch is Nuevo Mundo. Headlining the festival are artists from different genres such as rock, electronic dance music (EDM), and rap. The lineup includes Silent Sanctuary, SUD, Ron Poe, Tom Taus, Deuce, Ron Thug, Mcboo, David Ardiente, and Brisom. Besides enjoying music, concertgoers can treat themselves to food from concessionaires found in the venue. They can also participate in art activities or go camping on the concert grounds.

How to get there: Take the LRT-1 and drop off at Gil Puyat station, then ride a jeep to the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) office.


La Luna Roja


When: November 25 and 26
Where: RCBC Plaza, Makati City
Price range: PhP1,000 to PhP2,000

La Luna Roja, which means the red moon in Spanish, will be the first original full-length flamenco ballet show in the country. The show will feature artists from Spain such as Javier Martos, Jose Cortes, Ruben Campos, and Sergio Gomez. Local artists such as Tami Monsod, Angel Gomez, and Grupo Nuevo Flamenco are also in the production.

The story of La Luna Roja revolves around a village put under the curse of the red moon by a wicked sorceress. The curse can only be broken by a sacrifice made with true love. Tickets are available at Ticketworld outlets and the website.

How to get there: Ride the LRT-Line 1 and drop off at Gil Puyat Avenue then walk to the jeepney terminal located at the side of Shell Gil Puyat. Ride a jeep plying the Bel-Air to Washington route. Go down at The Columns Ayala Avenue and cross the pedestrian lane to the other side of Gil Puyat Ave.


Hey Matteo


When: November 30
Where: Kia Theatre
Price range: PhP530 to PhP4,240

Kapamilya actor Matteo Guidicelli will be showcasing his vocal chops for the second time after the success of his first solo concert in Cebu. The concert will be in promotion of his second album which will be released soon. The concert will feature guest performances by Kiana Valenciano, Morisette Amon, and Loonie.

The concert is produced by Big Bang Productions together with Hills and Dreams. Tickets are available at TicketNet outlets and the website.

How to get there: Ride the LRT-2 and drop off at the Araneta Center-Cubao station. Take the East Exit and walk along Aurora Boulevard. Turn right to the Gen. Aguinaldo Avenue. You will see Kia Theatre on the left.
