Sick of eating in your everyday fast food chains? Why not try these new restaurants for a change?
As city people, we’re always assumed to be occupied and on our feet. We always move around, and barely have time to try out new things for ourselves. It’s a bummer, since Quezon City is such a great spot for getting into new things, meeting new people, and trying new twists on our favorite food. The city always offers new things to both its locals and visitors. So, if you happen to catch some time to ease off work and just walk the city streets, here are a few new restaurants in Metro Manila this May 2018 you could visit to satisfy your appetite.
1. Westeroast Cafe
Where:Ground Floor, Food Square Building, 51 Magiting Street, Teachers Village, Quezon City
Operating hours:1:00PM to 12:00 AM. Sunday to Saturday

Westeroast is the newest addition to the themed cafes in Metro Manila, it opened its doors last February.

While the newest season of HBO’s hit TV series Game of Thrones (GoT) might not be out until 2019, fans of the fantasy series can still relive their favorite moments from the series in this exciting themed cafe. Westeroast Cafe is a play on the name of the fictional world in Game of Thrones, Westeros, and on coffee. It’s the perfect name for a place that perfect for die-hard fans of the show, of caffeine drinks, or of both.
With the cozy interiors filled with Game of Thrones-related decorations (like the ever-so-popular Iron Throne), customers can take hundreds of Instagram-worthy pictures while waiting for their orders. Once you’re satisfied with marvelling at the interior, they also have Game of Thrones-based board games that you can play with your friends and family while you sip and chow down on some of their delicious dishes.
Westeroast Cafe not only offers coffee drinks but also sumptuous selections of pastas, milkshakes, and rice meals. GoT fans might also enjoy the name of the dishes which are patterned after the show’s beloved characters. Few of the popular picks in the menu include Jon Snow (cookies and cream milkshake, PhP199), Red Wedding pasta (PhP159), and Daenerys (vanilla milkshake, PhP199).
Where:62 Sgt. Esguerra Corner Mother Ignacia Avenue, South Triangle, Quezon City
Operating hours:8:00AM to 11:00PM (Monday to Saturday)
Price range:Php120 to PhP279
White Camp is owned by brother and sister duo Ray and Diane Gollon.

The bright interior of White Camp surely lives up to the cafe’s name, as almost everything inside is clad in white. Unlike some coffee shops in the country which adopt a darker or warmer atmosphere, White Camp’s light and airy look is a breath of fresh air. However, while the simplicity of the place is already admirable, the menu is another thing to marvel at.
Besides cafe staples like sandwiches, coffee, and sweets, there are also various Asian food as well in case you’re in the mood for something Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. But if you’re craving for pastas, they also have five kinds of pasta meals in their menu for you to choose from. Some of the dishes you should try are their Korean fried chicken (PhP279), brioche grilled cheese (PhP249), and miso carbonara (PhP255).
Where:Ground Floor, One Banawe Complex, Calamba Street, Banawe, Quezon City
Operating hours:11:00AM to 10:00PM
Price range:PhP60 to PhP450

If the idea of a sushi burger or a sushi donut seems too far-fetched to you to try, Oomori will definitely change your mind. With their playful and experimental take on sushi dishes, Oomori is definitely one of the standouts among Japanese restaurants in the area. While other sushi bars offer the usual rolls, Oomori takes it to the next level with their sushi burger (PhP190) and sushi donut (PhP150), and chirashi bowls (bowl of rice mixed with vegetables, fish, and other optional choices) which go for PhP300 to PhP330 depending on the type.
They also have traditional Japanese dishes for those who crave for the timeless originals. They have tempuras (breaded and deep fried shrimp) for PhP250 to PhP350, teriyaki (grilled marinated fish or meat) for PhP250 to PhP260, and various sushi rolls for PhP180 to PhP450.
Where:2/F Ayala Malls Vertis North, North Avenue Quezon City
Operating hours:10:00AM to 9:00PM (Monday to Thursday), 10:00AM to 10:00PM (Friday to Sunday)

The Craft Central makes it possible for you to have the best of both art and food by opening a cafe in their 3rd outlet at the Ayala Vertis North.

The Craft Central successfully merged the idea of food and art together. Before transforming itself into a cafe, Craft Central was solely an art supply store. But the store decided to expand to encourage both budding and professional artists to hone their talents within a relaxed environment. They renovated to add a cafe so that visitors can both practice their craft while indulging in the delectable side dishes—after all, it’s better to make art with a full stomach.
If you’re looking to have a light snack, they have sandwiches that you could try. You can choose from their spicy shrimp slaw sandwich (PhP250/single, PhP300/double), garlic cheese steak sandwich (PhP260/single, PhP340/double), and pesto vegetable sandwich (PhP235/single, PhP310/double).
5. Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar
Where:Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Quezon City, 134 Roosevelt Avenue, Del Monte, Quezon City

Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar just had its soft opening on May 8, and it is set to make waves by filling all our cravings for Filipino dishes.
Image: Las Casas Quezon City
Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar might be the newest restaurant in the list, but it’s the one that has the most classic interiors. Entering Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar is like stepping into a time machine that directly takes you to the Spanish period of the Philippine history—from the dainty and regal decorations, to their hearty Spanish-inspired cuisine. Their ambiance suits the place well, especially since the restaurant sits on an 18th century art-deco home restored by the Acuzar family, who are also behind the well-known Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar attraction in Bataan.
To complement the interiors, the restaurant serves classic Spanish cuisines and soon, Filipino dishes as well. Since its soft opening this May, the restaurant has been currently catering to reservations for large group functions and families celebrating their special moments.
