South Korea’s first and biggest low-cost airline kicks off this direct flight service route to significantly boost Puerto Princesa’s tourism and travel. Incheon is a significant transportation site in South Korea and a city near its capital and the largest metropolis, Seoul.
The launching of Incheon to Puerto Princesa flights is through the initiative of the City Tourism Department of Puerto Princesa, appealing to foreign tourists to visit the Philippine destination.
The City Tourism Department Head, Demetrio Alvior Jr., says that Incheon flights to Puerto Princesa are the latest and most progressing development by the city government to boost Palawan’s tourism and regain traction from the South Korean travel sector.

The South Korean ambassador to the Philippines will visit to check and finalize further details for establishing the direct flights. The Department of Tourism is working with Puerto Princesa’s tourism department to organize the tour for South Korean business investors, aiming to promote Puerto Princesa City.
Alvior said that tourists from South Korea are more than ready to go back, and these tourists are taking the Jeju Island-Taipei-Puerto Princesa City route. But through this new direct flight, the Incheon to Puerto Princesa route that will start this March, tourists from South Korea will now have more convenient and swifter flights from Incheon via Jeju Air. These direct flights to Puerto Princesa do not require a visa, enticing tourists to opt for this route.

The South Korean market made a significant number of tourist visits in the country, as Alvior said, making the number of South Korean tourists a considerable factor for this tourism and travel initiative.
On the other hand, direct flights from Taiwan and Taipei are also scheduled to resume by February, but travel from this location is set to be seasonal.
