Good news! If you’re traveling to northern Palawan and wish to rest and relax, the first
Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in Palawan opened on April 12 and is now available for tourists.
Located along the national highway in the villages of Sandoval and San Nicolas in Roxas, this new TRA is a perfect pit stop during a road trip to explore Palawan's breathtaking destinations. The Tourist Rest Area offers a convenient and comfortable break in your journey, making it an oasis for rejuvenating and recharging before embarking on your northern Palawan trip. With its strategic location and top-notch facilities, your travel will be more relaxed and convenient.
The Tourist Rest Area in
Roxas, Palawan, features a relaxing lounge area, modern charging stations for electronic devices, clean restrooms with shower facilities for quick refreshment, and a dedicated lactation room for mothers. Additionally, there's a tourist information center to help you plan your journey and a pasalubong center where you can find local MSME products and delicacies, supporting the local economy and preserving cultural heritage.
In addition, another brand new TRA will soon be constructed in Brooke’s Point, Palawan, allowing convenient access to the province's southern destinations.
TRAs have been constructed and are already functioning in several locations, such as Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon, Island Garden City of Samal in Davao del Norte, Dauis in Bohol, Carcar City, and the municipalities of Carmen, Medellin, and Moalboal in Cebu.
The construction of TRAs aligns with President Marcos Jr.’s vision to boost infrastructure and support the tourism industry as an essential sector of the economy.
