Online news has been circulating recently that
Fontana Leisure Parks & Casino, formerly known as the Fontana Hot Spring Leisure Parks & Casino, in Clark, Pampanga, is shutting down.
On January 7, 2025, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) announced through its Facebook page the indefinite closure of Fontana Leisure Parks & Casino. This decision was made due to Fontana's failure to meet financial and contractual obligations and non-compliance with the Fire Code and National Building Code, among other issues. CDC's order requires Fontana Leisure Parks & Resort and Fontana Resort and Country Club, Inc. to immediately cease all operations within their leased area, which includes the 52-hectare property currently managed by Korea Country Club, Inc. (KCCI), until they comply with their contractual obligations.
The venue hosted APEC Summit meetings in 2016. However, it was shut down that same year due to a lack of a permit from PAGCOR. On December 16, 2016, the closure was lifted after Fontana management complied with the requirements set by Malacañang.
Fontana faced its second shutdown in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic after owner Jack Lam allegedly operated an illegal hospital on the premises to treat Chinese citizens suspected of having COVID-19. However, Fontana's management denied its involvement.
Fontana Leisure Parks & Casino opened in 2007 and is known for being the largest integrated leisure park in the Philippines. It offered a casino, hot springs, a hotel, recreational activities, cafés, restaurants, bars, KTV, and a convention center.
