Every summer, Tagaytay hardly warms up unlike in the city, given its altitude. That and its proximity to Manila are what make it one of the best summer destinations for most Filipinos.

If you’re looking for a change of scenery this year, one that’s not far from the urban jungle of the Metro, then read on. Here are some of the newest hangout spots in Tagaytay that are ideal for summer.


1. Kookay’s Food House

Address: 53 Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, KM 61, Brgy. Mendez East, Tagaytay City
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM

There are already a lot of unique concept dining spots in Tagaytay, but only a few are like Kookay's Food House. This newest crowd-drawer in Tagaytay lets you indulge your inner child and cuddle with cute stuffed toys and wear onesies (for PhP50) amid a colorful cheery wonderland. Only the brightest and happiest colors surround the place, and every corner is definitely worthy of an Instagram snap.

As colorful as the place are the food and drinks in Kookay’s Food House. They offer group meal packages that include snacks, main dishes, and milkshakes starting at PhP600. They also have hot pots and all-day breakfast meals for early birds.




2. The Barracks Food Camp on the Ridge

Opened in June 2017, The Barracks Food Park is one of the newest entrant to the food park invasion in the south. Owned by the family of actor Derek Ramsay, The Barracks particularly stands out along Aguinaldo Highway because of its military/camo-themed design.

This two-story food park houses 30 food stalls that offer a wide array of food and drink options at reasonable prices. You can find a variety of Filipino food ranging from street food and snacks to regional delicacies, international cuisines, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments. You can come here for a heavy meal, for a light snack, or for a late-night round of beer and cocktails after a trip to the exhilarating rides at Sky Ranch, which is just across the road.


3. Adverb Gastro Bar

Address: 2nd Floor, Robinson’s Summit Ridge Promenade, Tagaytay-Nasugbu Rd., Maharlika West, Tagaytay City
Operating hours: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM; Friday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM

Adverb Gastro Bar is currently the hottest late-night hangout in Tagaytay. With only a few great choices for a bar where people can freely hit the dance floor in this cool city, there’s no wonder many people have been flocking here.

During the day, Adverb Gastro Bar is a casual dining spot for family and friends to enjoy a variety of Filipino and Western dishes. Located on the second floor of Robinsons Summit Ridge, the restaurant is spacious and naturally lit during the day. They offer various finger foods and drinks, and DJs usually start playing around 9:00 PM when the mall has closed.

A new addition to the thriving dining scene of Tagaytay, Entrada introduces itself as a restaurant, bar, events place, and a catering provider. The place just opened in January this year at Tagaytay Heights Subdivision, just a short distance from Mahogany Market.

Entrada attracts customers with its mouth-watering offerings of local favorites and international dishes like pastas and pizzas. It accommodates diners with its cozy and spacious setup with comfortable seating that promises to make you feel at-home. They are open until midnight every day, so it also makes for an ideal laidback hangout while enjoying light meals during a midnight run or a couple of cold beers after work.

Fora Mall in Tagaytay is the newest go-to spot for people who are looking to cool down and unwind by shopping to their heart’s content. Standing on a 5.2-hectare land right across Tagaytay Rotunda, Fora Mall is a part of a mixed-use development that also includes condominiums and condotels.

Fora Mall, although not the first shopping center in the city, has brought in a lot of firsts. It houses Tagaytay's first digital cinemas, each with a 200-seating capacity, and the country's first 24-hour hypermarket, Super Metro Hypermarket.
