Batangas City laid out plans to build new medical center in Calaca

Batangas Governor Dodo Mandanas ordered the local government of the province assigned for health and infrastructure to begin working on approved projects for the city, specifically on building additional medical facilities in the area. This includes a new Batangas Provincial Medical Center that will soon rise in the town of Calaca, Batangas.

The medical center will provide primary medical needs and laboratories for a Level 2 Accredited Medical Facility. In addition, it will also serve as additional space for patients who can no longer be accommodated by the Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery. [1]

Vets in Batangas continue disinfection services against ASF

Disinfection operations in livestock industries in various areas of Batangas are being conducted by the Office of the Provincial Veterinarians (OPV) to help fight the emerging African Swine Fever (ASF) amid the pandemic. A case of the ASF was recorded in the area last February 2020. Dr. Rommel Marasigan, provincial veterinarian, said that this is enough reason for the OPV to strictly monitor the movement management of pigs and other pork products in the province. [2]

According to the data last 2019, the province of Batangas is the top producer of livestock, especially pigs, in the entire CALABARZON Region and comes in second in the entire Philippines next to Bulacan.
