Batangas mayors expressed disagreement over return of face-to-face classes
Two mayors from Batangas showed their disagreement over the return of face-to-face classes in schools next month. They noted that in order to do so, vaccines must be distributed first before children can attend school physically. Cuenca City Mayor Faye Barretto said that being cautious is more important. Children have the tendency to play while in school which will be difficult for the authorities to control and maintain social distancing among them.
Agoncillo Mayor Daniel Reyes also expressed the same sentiments on the matter. He mentioned that he told the Department of Education not to resume classes yet for it is the better option as of now. Reyes added that they are willing to comply with DepEd’s rules, as long as the children will not be affected. [2]
