Physical distancing, wearing face masks, and COVID-19 testing protocols remain under Alert Level 1 guidelines.

Tagaytay City and some areas in the country have been placed under Alert Level 1 after higher alert levels since the pandemic. It is the first time that the area has been under the lowest alert level—and there might be confusion on the updated protocols. Still, the national inter-agency task force released the official Alert Level 1 guideline to the public. The Alert Level 1 guidelines are less restrictive regarding protocols in travel and transportation.

Wearing of face mask

The Alert Level 1 guidelines and protocols for wearing face masks remain the same: they should be worn at all times in public places and transportation regardless of vaccination status—except for drinking and eating. Physical distancing is still required in public transportation and other settings and venues under the Alert Level 1 guideline.

Testing protocols

COVID-19 testing protocol, like an RT-PCR, will be needed for unvaccinated and vulnerable individuals, including medical frontliners, seniors, and people with medical conditions. Testing will be optional for those not belonging to the mentioned groups according to the Alert Level 1 guidelines. Symptomatic individuals should be isolated for both vaccinations statuses.

Establishment and work capacity

All establishments, workplaces, and venues—both indoor and outdoor—are allowed to operate at 100% capacity per the Alert Level 1 guidelines and protocols with physical distancing. Companies are still encouraged to offer alternative work arrangements or flexible work schedules based on the Alert Level 1 guideline and protocols—except government offices which require a 100% on-site workforce. Establishments are also not required to conduct contact tracing and S-PaSS under Alert Level 1 guidelines and protocols. Minors need to present their proof of vaccination status.

Proof of vaccination is needed for adults upon entering a venue for the subsequent mass gatherings per Alert Level 1 guidelines and protocols:

● Wakes and funerals for those who died of non-COVID causes and cremated COVID-19 patient
● Religious gatherings
● Indoor dine-in at eateries, restaurants, and kiosks
● Pampering, grooming, spas, and personal care establishments
● Gyms and similar establishments
● Indoor cinemas, concert venues, theaters, and the likes
● Party venues for weddings, birthdays, engagements, bridal showers, baby showers, and family reunions
● Hotels and accommodations

Public transportation

The Alert Level 1 guidelines and protocols for public transportation will no longer require plastic dividers. As for travels between Alert Level 1 and higher alert levels, capacity will follow lower capacity. Under Alert Level 1 protocol, air, sea, and rail transportation protocols are at 100% capacity.
