Business continues as usual in Tagaytay despite the ongoing Taal volcano smog, as the Tagaytay Tourism Council has determined that the Taal volcano smog has not significantly impacted the city.

According to the Tagaytay Tourism Facebook post, the city's famous tourist destinations, including Rosario by Vikings, Skyranch Tagaytay, and Tagaytay Picnic Grove, saw a surge in visitors during the recently concluded long weekend. The iconic dining spots were fully booked, and parks and outdoor attractions were bustling with visitors of all ages.

While Tagaytay remains open to tourists, the Tagaytay Tourism Council strongly advises everyone to heed the local government and health officials' reminders about the smog effect. Both tourists and locals need to protect themselves by wearing N95 face masks outside.

As of August 26, Taal Volcano is still at Alert Level 1 with ongoing degassing, causing volcanic smog to envelop the lake and island. Philvocs expects that the sulfur dioxide emissions from Taal Volcano could continue until 2026. Tourists are still barred from entering the island, which is deemed a permanent danger zone.

If you are going to Tagaytay soon, here are some tips to protect yourself from the Taal volcanic smog.
