Bacolod City is known for its laid-back and relaxing lifestyle. So, if you’re looking to cozy up with some furry pets or you have that irresistible craving for a smooth cup of joe, ShoppersGuide has got you covered with these chic new coffee spots in the city.


Furkids Grooming and Café


Budget: PhP120 Entrance Fee

If you are a dog lover and could use a little pick-me-up, head down to the first dog café in Bacolod city. At Furkids Grooming and Café, you can dine and drink in the company of their resident dogs.

Customers are welcome to pet and play with the dogs that roam freely around the café. However, there are a couple of rules that need to be observed. Customers are not allowed to feed, taunt, or tease the dogs. Flash photography is also prohibited. There is an entrance fee of PhP120 that includes a two-hour stay and a consumable meal.

Bagels by ELG


Budget: PhP350 for two

Also the first of its kind in the city, Bagels by ELG serves their delicious bagels in a wide assortment of flavors. They come in plain, honey wheat, egg, sesame, onion, garlic, blueberry, cinnamon-raisin, everything, rainbow, and cheese. They also serve 12 different kinds of fillings, including plain, cream cheese, whipped butter, maple cinnamon butter, feta dill cream cheese, onion and chive cream cheese, peanut butter, strawberry cream cheese, blueberry cream cheese, salmon lax cream cheese, Nutella, and Speculoos.

If you’re looking for something a bit more complex, you can order the bagel french toast or the salmon gravlax on bagel. Aside from their staple items, they also serve an assortment of cakes and pastries as well as pasta, soups, and sandwiches.

Two Pans Café and Resto


Budget: PhP200-500 for two

Located in the ground floor of O Residences, Two Pans Café and Resto is a hip and youthful place to hang out with friends. You can dine in their café and restaurant decorated with whimsical interiors. Visitors can opt to take their shoes off, climb a short flight of stairs, and play with a wide array of board games.

Their best seller is a cup of their signature coffee called “Kiss of Hope.” Nevertheless, if you prefer a soothing cup of tea, they also serve an assortment of TWG teas. And their snacks come with a fun twist: they serve Three Way Fries that comes in a plate of mojos, wedges, and french fries. If you enjoy posting on Instagram, you are sure to love taking pictures of their cute drinks and their well-plated meals.

Calling all Potterheads! Revisit the magic at this hole-in-the-wall Harry Potter-themed café. Fans of the best-selling novel and movie will surely enjoy the Diagon Alley-painted wall and the English telephone booth as well as the Harry Potter toys and decorations at Chapter 9 ¾ Coffee, Breakfast and Arts. Guests are welcome to play foosball, scrabble, and the Wizarding Chess set in the cafe. There are also a number of books available for customers to borrow and read.


Toastbox

A branch of Toastbox has recently opened in the ground floor of Robinsons Place. The Singaporean café is known for its signature Nanyang Kopi, which is specially brewed to bring out the best of every coffee bean. You can have it black, with evaporated milk, or with condensed milk. Customers can snack on BreadTalk products or opt to order one of Toastbox‘s sandwich sets.


Café Velo


Budget: PhP300-600 for two

If you’re up for a little road trip, you can take a drive all the way to Silay City where you can check out Café Velo. This chic new café is a favorite among the younger crowd due to its stylish interiors and its take on the latest food craze, matcha.

They serve green tea frappes and green tea cheesecakes, which are some of the best-selling items of the cafe. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, you can still enjoy your stay at Café Velo as it also boasts of its delicious Monte Cristo and BLT sandwiches.
