Before we truly welcome the Christmas spirit this November and December, we would first experience the thrills and chills of Halloween this October. When we talk about this occasion, the things that usually come to mind are Halloween events like costume parties and trick-or-treat events.

Don’t know where to go trick-or-treating? This article presents a list of Halloween parties that hotels and kid-oriented facilities in Metro Manila will host during the last few days of October for some spooky fun and enjoyment with the whole family.


1. Spooktacular Halloween Costume Party

The festivities will begin at 3:00 PM in all respective branches.


Active Fun, a kid-oriented indoor play area, will hold a Halloween costume party at its branches in Ayala Malls The 30th, Power Plant Mall, SM Megamall, Bonifacio Global City, and Evia Lifestyle Center.

Kids can come and enjoy the activities in their scariest, cutest, and prettiest costumes. There would be magic shows, parlor games, snacks, a mascot dance, sweet treats, art activities, unlimited playtime, and loot bags awaiting each child.

How to get to Active Fun branches:

Ayala Malls the 30th: Ride the MRT and get off at Shaw Boulevard Station. Ride a jeep bound for Ugong located at the terminal at the side of The Square Greenfield District in front of Shangri-La Plaza Mall. Get off at the mall’s entrance, which will be reached after passing St. Paul College.

Power Plant Mall: Ride the LRT-1 then get off at Pedro Gil Station. Ride a jeep bound for Guadalupe and get off at Plaza Drive Corner J.P Rizal. From here, Power Plant Mall can be reached after walking along Plaza Drive.

SM Megamall: Ride the MRT and get off at Shaw Boulevard Station. Leave the station through its south exit and walk towards SM Megamall.




2. Boo-Time Halloween Party

When: October 27 to 29

Fun Ranch is a popular venue for kids’ parties.


Fun Ranch is known to throw one of the biggest Halloween parties for kids every year with their Boo-time Halloween Party. Food and drinks will be available inside the venue to fill up your energy after participating in many activities such as trick or treating and product sampling.

The Alabang and Pampanga branches also offer a ride-all-you-can promo for added fun. The event ensures that all kids will not go home empty handed because loot bags will be given to every attendee.

How to get to Fun Ranch:

Alabang branch: Fun Ranch Alabang is located within Westgate Center, to go there take a bus going to SM Southmall. At SM, ride a jeep going to Alabang then tell the driver to drop you off at Westgate Center.

Ortigas: To get to the Ortigas branch, go to Shaw Boulevard. From there, ride a jeep bound for Ugong, Pasig. The jeep will pass by Tiendesitas.


3. Heroes and Villains Super Halloween Party


Where: Crimson Hotel, Filinvest City, Manila

Every Halloween, kids can be whoever they want to be—whether it’s a hero or a villain.


Kids usually don their favorite superhero costumes during Halloween, but Crimson Hotel’s Heroes and Villains Super Halloween Party encourages children to dress up not only as protagonists but also as villains.

The event is filled with DC comics-themed events such as the Justice League Be Your Own Hero Face Paint where they can take their costumes further with face paints, Batman VS Superman Superhero dash, Green Lantern Ball Party, and Wonder Woman Becoming an Amazon Warrior. Snacks and loot bags will be also distributed to attendees

How to get to Crimson Hotel: Ride a Baclaran-Navotas bus then alight at Ayala Ave, Makati City. Then ride a UV Express from Park Square terminal from Makati then drop off at Festival Mall. Crimson Hotel is located within the Filinvest Corporate City.


4. Oh My Candies!

A galore of magic, face-painting, loot bags, corndogs and candies await every kid who will attend Oh My Candies!, the Halloween party of Midas Hotel. Thinking of going with a costume? Prepare early because a free lunch or dinner buffet is up for grabs for the attendees with the most boo-tiful getup.

How to get to Midas Hotel: Ride the MRT and get off at Taft Avenue Station. Ride a jeep going to MCU-Pasay Rotonda and get off at Roxas Boulevard. Midas Hotel is just a few walks from there.




5. Zombie Bash Halloween Party

Zombies are popular in pop culture due to dozens of zombie-inspired movies.


With many zombie-themed movies and series coming out, it’s no wonder that it is one of the most popular themes for a Halloween party. One of these parties is the Zombie Bash Halloween Party at F1 Hotel.

A free brunch buffet will be served to all participants, and there will also be a trick or treat Halloween party, magic show, face painting, cupcake decorating activity, and fun games.

The event encourages attendees to come in their most creative and scary zombie outfits to fit the Halloween bash. Tickets are available at the F1 Hotel website.

How to get to F1 Hotel: Get off at MRT-Ayala Station and take the north exit. Proceed to the shuttle terminal or The Fort bus at the corner. The shuttle passes by St. Luke’s Medical Center which is only a few blocks from the hotel.

Have a fun Halloween without spending too much with the Monsterrific Weekend.


Almost every Halloween party included in this list has an entrance fee, but if you want to attend a free fun-filled party, then the Monsterrific Weekend at the Events Center of the Century City Mall on October 28 to 29 is worth a visit.

The first day of the Halloween party will include a Halloween fashion show, games and activities for kids on the 28th. On the 29th, there would be a magic show courtesy of illusionist Joe Conrad and a meet and greet with him, trick or treat, and an animal petting session.

How to get to Century City Mall: Ride the MRT then get off at Guadalupe Station. Go down the stairs to the southbound lane of EDSA. Ride a jeepney with the “Ayala JP Rizal Makati Ave Guad Ibabaw” sign, then get off at Makati Ave cor Kalayaan. Century City Mall is located along Kalayaan Ave. Just pay the minimum fare for the jeepney.


7. Harry Potter and the Great Hogwarts Halloween

Attention all Potterheads! Pineapple Lab will have a two-day Harry Potter-themed Halloween party for kids and kids at heart who want to experience Hogwarts. Attendees can participate in Hogwarts subjects such as potion-making, defense against the dark arts, charms, and the like.

How to get to Pineapple Lab: Ride a Baclaran-Dapitan jeep then get off at Leon Guinto Sr and Pedro Gil Intersection. From there, ride a Guadalupe Mkt – L. Guinto jeep then get off at the intersection of Water Front and J.P Rizal Ave. Walk left on JD Villena Street and left onto Palma.


8. Spookfest 2017


Where: City of Dreams Manila
When: October 28 to November 1

The event would also show DreamWorks movies that are certainly not-so-scary.


Kids can celebrate their Halloween in a less scary way with City of Dreams Manila’s Spookfest 2017. The event will feature Shrek-themed activities such as Shrek or Treat pumpkin hunt and a photo op with Shrek. Kids can also try their hands in baking by making their own pumpkin cookies.

Of course, a Halloween party wouldn’t be complete without a costume party. The kid with the best costume at the Shrek It Out costume contest on November 1 will win three tickets to Dreamplay and an overnight stay at Nobu Hotel.

How to get to City of Dreams: Get off at MRT-Taft Avenue Station then ride a shuttle to SM Mall of Asia (MOA). Wait for the free City of Dreams shuttle available at the front area of MOA. Shuttle service starts at 11:00 AM.

9. Avengers Spooky Halloween Party

Earth’s mightiest heroes will take a day off from saving the world to party this Halloween.


Marvel fans might enjoy the Avengers themed Halloween party at the Luxent Hotel wherein they can dress up as their favorite Avengers character—whether it’s Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Hawk Eye, Nick Fury, Black Widow, or War Machine.

Guests can feast on the brunch buffet which will be offered at the party while watching the magic show. Goodie bags and prizes will also be given to kids present at the event.

How to get to Luxent Hotel: Ride the LRT-2 then get off at Araneta Center-Cubao Station and take the north exit. Ride a jeep going to Pantranco then get off at the Pantranco Terminal. Ride a jeep going to Project 2-3 and get off at Boy Scout Circle. Luxent Hotel is near the Boy Scout Circle.


10. Goblin Run 2017

This will be Sofitel’s first Goblin Run.


Looking for a new way to celebrate Halloween? The Goblin Run on October 29 at Sofitel Manila not only features the usual trick or treat activities, but also a race for the benefit of Virlanie Foundation, a non-profit organization that caters to street children in the Philippines.

Registration outlets are located at GNC outlets. Online registration is available at Sofitel Manila Goblin Run website.

How to get to Sofitel: Ride the LRT and get off at Vito Cruz Station. Go down the stairs and walk towards Torre Lorenzo Residences and ride one of the orange shuttles that pass by Sofitel Manila. The fare for the shuttle ride is PhP7.00.


Tips for preparing for and attending the event:

• Do check the event’s or the venue’s Facebook page for the availability of tickets. Some events sell out faster than others.

• It’s best to buy tickets from the official venue/event’s website for safety purposes.

• To save up on tickets, buy early. Some of the events offer discounts for early bird purchases.

• Some events have limited seating or slots only so if you’re already sure that you’re going, make a reservation to secure a spot.

• Prepare your kid’s costume in advance if you want to win the costume contests. Many of these trick or treat events award huge prizes to the most creative costumes.

• Be original when it comes to your costume. Think of adding a twist to the usual witch, pirate, or fairy getup.

• Make sure to keep your children safe. Keep an eye on them during the event to prevent them from getting lost or in danger.
